Written during the unwavering uncertainty and weirdness of 2020/21, Quivver’s third studio album is a body of work that lives and breathes in its own universe, on its own terms. Experimental, thoughtful, loaded with faraway dancefloor dreams, it was his debut album on Bedrock and a huge highlight of the year for the label. 

Now, as the raving world reawakens once again, it’s time for more revelations as Quivver hands over the stems to some trusted peers for this exciting remix collection. Each cut tailored for the dancefloor, the collection starts with an almighty jolt of euphoria as 8Kays takes the lead with her divine take on ‘Hold’. 

Currently heralded as a future hero by Beatport in their Beatport Next campaign, Ukraine producer 8Kays once again backs up the hype with a pristine and dramatic flip that adds a whole new twist on Quivver’s original.  

8Kays is not alone as Losless steps up next to bring his own sense of techno je ne sais quoi to ‘Funkily’. Adding extra swing and broken drum flare to the already juicy, rolling original, there’s a sudden sunlit bonus midway as the synth heavens open to reveal great swathes of emotion.

The feels continue on Lexer’s remix of ‘Nothin’ New To Feel’. One of the most heartfelt moments of the album, Lexer maintains the powerful yearning sentiment of the original with the plaintive vocal are refuelled with sweeping bass textures and sudden flips into brilliant moments of urgency.  

For the final leg of this remix adventure we head north west to Toronto, home of Weska who brings the EP home in his own fast lane. Deep, thundering techno with a latent warm groove, Weska pays full attention to ‘Atomised’ while making it wholly his own.

Bedrock are proud to welcome man-of-the-moment Artche. 

Currently operating with unstoppable momentum via massive releases on the highly respected likes of Pryda, Anjunadeep, Still Vor Talent, Last Night On Earth and Stress (to name a few), here he makes debut on John Digweed’s label with two colourful moments of total and utter euphoria – ‘Indigo’ and ‘Magenta’.  

One bouncing into the sunset on a broken drum, the other pumping relentlessly into the stars; across the tracks Artche flexes his full silky signature. ‘Indigo’ swings with a beautiful two-step, sways with melancholy pads and sizzles with trembling pianos. ‘Magenta’, meanwhile, a much more forthright 4x4 journey. Juicy kicks and bass coated in dreamy synths and a breakdown to die for, it’s another timeless triumph for the Newcastle-in-Manchester artist who’s consistently captured the post lockdown zeitgeist in recent times. Wrapping up this eventful year for Last Night On Earth - we have one more release that we have been treasuring for months now. Off the back of ‘Nalo’ - his collaboration with Sasha on the LNOE TEN compilation - Lake Turner will be making his solo LNOE debut next month with his four-track EP; ‘Further Now’.

Andrew Halford aka Lake Turner is a London-based musician who previously made music in post-punk and indie groups Great Eskimo Hoax (Rallye) and Trophy Wife (Moshi Moshi). His debut full length ‘Videosphere’ was released on Kompakt in 2020 receiving plaudits from The Guardian. It was the first time he fully articulated his own vision of electronic music. 

The kaleidoscopic  ‘Further Now’ EP showcases Lake Turner’s ever expanding sonic palette in the electronic realm, and brings some fresh angles - including a triumphant collaboration with Brazilian producer Gui Boratto. 

Lake Turner: "Working with Gui on Repeater was super special for me;  his music was a gateway into the electronic world I currently operate in. He was one of the first electronic producers I heard using guitars in techno music & as a guitar player it signalled to me that it was acceptable to do so. Ironically there's no guitars in the track we made together but do feel like what we've created is fresh out of the can."
