Comprised of Emanuel Satie, Maga, Sean Doron, Tim Engelhardt and Yulia Niko, four out of five members of the group come together on Disconnect. Following the release of the Starlight EP in May, Scenarios collaborate with songwriter, singer, and producer Hannah Noelle on vocals.

Maga, Sean Doron, Tim Engelhardt and Emanuel Satie deliver a warm but club-driven vibe on Disconnect. Brimming with emotive chords, tinkling piano notes and smooth drums, it’s the kind of tune that’s appropriate for a peak-time festival set under the sun or a packed-out afterparty. Hannah Noelle’s velvety vocals evoke a balmy atmosphere, snaking through a low-slung bassline and bright synthlines. A tangible blend of spiritual and vibrant energy, synonymous with the evolving collective.

Individually, they are known as Maga, Sean Doron, Yulia Niko, Tim Engelhardt and Emanuel Satie, each of whom are established performers in their own right. Together, they become Scenarios. Only two releases in, Black Coffee, John Digweed and streaming platform Cercle have supported the label, while peak spots on Beatport’s Top 10 Chart have proved consistent. As a collective, their beliefs and outlooks are shared – allowing them to truly grow as one whilst maintaining their individuality as independent artists.

Born in France, Maga’s discography boasts releases on Flying Circus and Get Physical. Israel’s Sean Doron has found a home on Damian Lazarus’ Rebellion imprint, whilst his Monochrome event series continues to flourish. Cologne’s Tim Engelhardt is a mainstay of German label Stil Vor Talent, as well as Diynamic. Berlin-based, Watergate resident Yulia Niko has become a world-renowned artist in recent times, with material on Watergate Records and MOOD. German producer Emanuel Satie is an award-winning artist with a slew of releases on Cocoon, Crosstown Rebels and Get Physical.

Although the digital sun shines bright in Tulum always we would say there are some tunes which could be labelled as winter music typically. @igor_bartyuk (from mountainous Caucasian) and @valon_music (from ice-cold Sweden) are the masters of this genre and we're more than happy to work with them on a deep journey up here.

The title track is a very good example how to build a vibe staying low and strange only, very well tested, very well working out, low risk on "Deceit And Pretense". And what deceit and pretense means these times? We'll leave it on you to imagine, hehe.

"Blatant Case" is almost a B side - if you know what B side is - but how the world and dancefloors resonates on sorrowful and dark music we agreed on to include, and to be honest is also a great one. The door opening horror part is our favorite, can feel the tension and see trouble with our third eye after entering the room.

Last year a fan hit us with a really cool feedback on our set and said "noise with a purpose". Licensing his thought on this one.

Release Info: 
After D.Y.A's and Kalyma's collaboration for Solide's eights catalogue number, latter returns solo for the label's latest release, 'Rites EP', a three tracker consisting of two original cuts and a remix. In traditional Kalyma manner and part of his trademark sound the Berlin based producer delivers an excessive drum-influenced EP opener, 'Rites', that signifies its dance floor potential within the first minute and teases with an incisive chord which marks the introduction of the track's coming in subtle key-melody. As the track continues Kalyma sprinkles with accentuated synth-chords that adapt to the overall harmonies and set new auditory stimuli before the track enfolds its full peak-time potential.

Kalyma's second cut, 'Red Man Calypso', comes in an original version and a Whitesquare remix. As the original highlights whizzling and sizzling synth pads that create late summer esthetics over a proper house bassline, Whitesquare's remix approach concentrates on the low frequencies as the Italian producer implements a reduced bassline smoothly supporting the synth-chords which he adapted from the original. Due to the reduction the remix depicts a multi-layered almost paradox atmosphere – buoyant and joyful on the one side, dark and desperate on the other – the listener is torn between but never lost as the beauty and life-affirming vibe prevails.
