Musical Moment - Yuri Petlura

This last week has been horrible. Last wednesday, I got the terrible news that a dear friend, Yurij Petlura had passed on and all of his friends spent this last weekend saying goodbye.
I first met Yurij only about 10 years ago but it seems I've known him forever. We grew close at bandura camp because of our shared love of bandura. Everytime we played together I would tell him what a pleasure it was to play with him. Just sitting next to him made you a better musician. I could go on for paragraphs and paragraphs about our friendship and how much he'll be missed. He was a positive influence on all who knew him.
Here's a recording of Yurij, Christina Hlutkowsky, Borys Ostapienko and myself playing a piece, Myla's Song, at the staff talent show during the Kobzarska Sich bandura camp in 2013.

Myla's Song "Studio Version"

This song is from about 1991 or 92 - an era when "James Brown is Dead" was the big dance song.  This was a pure sequencer song with no multitracking, had to do some real time patching though to get the vocoder plugged in to the right sounds as I recall.  I still miss the Lately Bass tweak from my TX81-Z which died some time in the early 90s
