While many elements of his signature sound are present- think movie like synthesis, unusual and driving percussion, subtle acid chords, and big bass abundant patterns- Volta feels like a new tone he is pursuing. A cinematic adventure through a nostalgic rave trip.

I haven’t posted a recording of my djing for quite some time now, I feel this is a moment I can and want to share.

This 5 hour closing set has been something special for me.

09:00 - 14:00

Walking into de school not knowing what was about to happen, only thinking that I would see this as my musical homage to being a resident to this amazing place, a space where I was going to play one of my most memorable sets to this day. What started as 3 hours planned of a closing ended up in 5 hours of pure bliss. 
The responses on that moment have changed a lot for me. It made me rethink why I dj, why I make music and why I love doing this thing I do so much. 

These 5 hours are filled with: unknown hits to big dance bangers, music for happiness, loneliness, loving, hating, remembering, forgetting, friendship and everything in between.

In the heart of Amsterdam, on the Haarlemmerdijk, there's a small cinema called "The Movies." Modest on the outside, it reveals a warm, old-world charm inside, with rich wood paneling, soft lighting, velvet seats, and deep crimson curtains.

Luigi, known as Artist BSS, is a regular at The Movies. Born and raised in Amsterdam, he finds inspiration in the cinema's unique atmosphere. This led him to create a song titled "The Movies," a tribute that captures the theater's nostalgic beauty and timeless appeal.

This song resonated with listeners, evoking the magic of The Movies. The cinema remains a beloved gem in Amsterdam, continuing to inspire all who visit.

The Movies

Paradiso is an iconic institute for Amsterdam’s performing artists a true “pop temple.” It’s where I experienced my first ever concert as a child and where countless unforgettable moments have unfolded, from performances by the biggest pop icons to intimate listening sessions of friends. 

Housed in a historic church, Paradiso has always been a place with a deep connection to the city. Its spirit resonates not just through its architecture but through the passion of its employees and the artists who grace its stages. 

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of being part of this magical venue. From organizing sold out shows to holding artist residencies, Paradiso remains close to my heart to this day.

To honor what this place means to me, I’ve created Paradiso EP, a collection of four songs inspired by its essence. The tracks feature interviews, live crowd recordings, and moments from performances that have shaped my journey as an artist.

This mix was recorded live during the closing of the Bravo Stage at Lowlands, in front of more than 10,000 people, from 03:00 till 05:00 in the morning.

Two hours of memories, tributes, and discoveries: an homage to everything I’ve heard, loved, and lived through at a festival like Lowlands.

As BSS, I wanted to make it more than just another dj set, it’s a journey through the music that has shaped all my music taste thru festivals like this.

From Oneohtrix Point Never, The Knife to Underworld, from big podium anthems to the latest gems by friends and peers like Jasmín on Hessle Audio or Vegyn’s Headache, the mix is filled with the artists and sounds that have inspired me on stage and beyond.

You’ll also hear unreleased remixes and personal edits of big songs, unique moments that could only happen there, in that tent, with that crowd.

Standing there, closing a festival this big surrounded by so many beautiful human beings, I felt both the weight of the past and the promise of what’s still ahead. This mix is a thank you, for the music, the friendships, the sunsets and sunrises, and the chance to grow with all of it.
