Our breath is the most readily accessible medicine available to us. There are many ways to work with our breath and this series is in support of your practice. These particular breath medicine journeys are inspired by my own practice that is most similar to Holotropic Breathwork. For me, the breathing is deeper, a little faster, only through the mouth and only through the chest. Many others can find great benefit through the nose or using the belly. [mix002] - This 75-minute journey was recorded in December 2021. The journey includes Native American musicians R. Carlos Nakai (Navajo / Ute), Primeaux & Mike (Oglalla/Dakota (Yankton) Sioux and Ponca & Dine Navajo) and Joanne Shenandoah (Oneida Nation, Wolf Clan, Haudenosaunee). As this breathwork journey was coming together, Joanne Shenanodah breathed her last breath in this life on November 22, 2021. Prayers to Joanne on her journey into ancestorhood. Also included in this mix is a favorite for breathwork - Deya Dova’s Ancient Creation Mother - recorded on the edge of Kīlauea volcano crater on Hawai’i’s Big Island.

This Sound Healing Journey was recorded with loving intentions during the Winter Solstice Dec 21st 2022 to offer a tool for aligning, balancing and harmonizing our energy centers in order to be able to integrate and apply incoming high frequencies better. The more resonant and harmonically aligned we become the better those energies can serve us on our journey. 

This journey is a sonic alchemy between ancient and modern sound healing technologies.

It contains recordings of classical sound healing instruments like Crystal Bowls, Tibetan Bowls and a Shamanic Drum as well as cutting edge frequency modulation synthesis and binaural brainwave entrainment to allow for deep relaxation, realignment and healing.

This sonic attunement uses a 528 Hz frequency pulsed as an isochronic tone of 4,5 Hz - also refered to as a state of shamanic consciousness.

The “Theta state vibrates between 4 – 7,5Hz and is associated with deep meditation, intuitive receptivity, healing and relaxation as well as enhanced creative abilities and profound insights.

The Shamanic Drum supports to ground and connect with the earth and it can help to move stagnant energy.

7 crystal bowls attuned to the resonance frequencies of the main energy centers of the body (“chakras”) and tuned to the cosmic tuning of 432 Hz are played one after the other to activate and balance the energy flow in those centers. This can allow stagnant energy to flow and remove energy blockages.

Each Chakra is being atoned for 6 min with the according Singing Bowls and drones and pads that have been created by sound design of the original bowl recordings, so all sounds have an organic origin.

All the sounds and frequencies are modulated in divine numbers and proportions like the golden mean ratio and digits of 3,6,9.

Earthly Measures are proud to present the release of ‘El Búho - Cumbias Imaquinarias’, this time on wax with some added remixes.

'Cumbias Imaquinarias' is an EP that flows full circle with one of El Búho’s earliest inspirations for making electronic music; digital Cumbia. It was a scene that exploded out of Buenos Aires around 2008 and went global. The scene soon saturated and fell out of fashion, but gave birth to artists like Chancha Via Circuito, Frikstailers, El Remolon and was a big inspiration for him as a young producer.

For El Búho there was always something there; the entrancing magic of the Cumbia rhythm reimagined for the electronic dancefloor. Cumbia is a music that is globally connected but also so diverse, evolving and growing into many subshoots of this one simple rhythm. This EP presents three Cumbia’s and one Porro rhythm (a derivation of the Cumbia rhythm from the Colombian Caribbean which evolved into its own style).

Joining El Búho on remix duties for this release are ARN4L2, Lagartijeando, Auntie Flo, La Jungla, Earthly Measures x Dreems, La Forasteria and Sun Sone. Each artist offering a completely unique approach and their own magic touch to this El Búho masterpiece.

The days continue to be wild.
 There’s a war between Israel and Iran. Luckily, I’m in Portugal — safe and calm.
This is a medicine set — filled with optimism and hope, rage, pain, sorrow, and prayer. That whole intense emotional spectrum we’re all experiencing right now.
 It’s woven with words — lots of them — in Hebrew, English, Portuguese, and Spanish. All the languages that make up who I am in this moment.
Some of the tracks were released just in the past couple of weeks — each one struck a deep chord in me. This is still the most powerful way I know to pray.
Perfect for lying down, gentle movement, cooking in the background, or driving.
Hoping for peace and unity, as soon as possible.
