BeFre$h is a recording artist from the Leimert Park District of South Central Los Angeles.  At the age of 7, BeFre$h was introduced to Hip-Hop by his father when he first heard the Ice Cube tape "Death Certificate", and from there he would become a fan of Hip-Hop music. Growing up in Leimert Park was hard for BeFre$h due to the drugs and gang violence that surrounded his living space and by the age of 14, BeFre$h had lost two friends whom he had grown up with due to gang violence. By the age of 17, BeFre$h had developed a love for writing poetry and started to write poems that reflected what he saw growing up in Los Angeles and during the summer of 2002, his poem titled "Crack" was read at a poetry reading in Compton, CA. In August of 2002, BeFre$h went away to school at Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, AL where his love from music would transform into becoming a MC. By the summer of 2008, BeFre$h had graduated from Tuskegee University with a business degree in Finance and he moved back to Los Angeles where he would take his music serious and begin recording. During the fall of 2010, BeFre$h had hooked up with music producer Shakir "Shak" Muwwakkil and independent label owner Darren "D-Note" Milton and he would begin work with IP Entertainment which would lead to a artist development deal with IP Entertainment/LRT/Universal in early 2011. By early 2012, creative differences caused  BeFre$h and IP Ent to split ways and by Jan 2013, BeFre$h released his critically acclaimed mixtape "Live From Leimert Park".
