 "Frozen" contains six tunes recorded between 2022 and 2023, evoking Arctic frost and means to survive in hostile environments. Moreover, "Bila" is an eulogy for a friend's dog, capturing her unique character, while "Last of Us" paints a vision of the world deprived of technology, written from the perspective of the last inhabitants of our planet. All in all, these are six slices of stark, cold machine funk, proper music for grownups.

4. BEGU - COLS AS NICE

Rekab arrives on the shores of Analog Concept Records in a sense-satisfying, lush style with the Concept EP.

There's a lot packed into these 4 tracks, as the record spins full circle emitting sonic intricacy for both the mind and the floors. Right away, vividly soothing and atmospheric hybrids of downtempo breakbeat electronica with a bit of ambient techno personality blissfully charm the experiences on Concept 1 and 2, while the B side extends the cosmic joyride with the soul permeating chords and therapeutic electro of Concept 3; and of course there is fun where there is mystery, hence a 909 and ambient house flavoured remix of the third Concept from the always impressive yet very elusive Convextion aka E.R.P.

Michal Wolski „Return to the (Dis)Comfort Zone”

This track was initiated during the Masterclass meeting, which I was invited to conduct by the Akademia Dźwięku in Warsaw on March 24, 2024. Then, during several sessions in the café - and the café is my favorite studio - I brought this preliminary sketch to the form of a finished piece.

We started with a few casual recordings and transformations of a quite randomly selected recording from the so-called "Music Diary" which I run and which consists of jams and improvisations created with synthesizers, modular system, samplers and various software that I use in my music studio. After the gathering I supplemented the idea that began to clarify during the meeting with new visions.

This subversive title of the track is meant to refer to the thought I wanted to convey during the Masterclass meeting - to constantly search, experiment, transcend our habits and constantly improve and modify our working methods, to go down as deep as possible in our experiments, because only there - as I believe - it is possible to discover „THIS”, which is what every artist is looking for. By the way, a "Masterclass" type meeting is a crazy challenge - because what seemingly can you pass on to others that won't be a collection of techniques like "how to create a techno groove”, which seems to me completely irrelevant to the spirit of experimentation, which I see as the center and absolute essence of the creative process.

I invite you to listen to the track, which is the result of both a collective effort, and a discussion of creative techniques, and a focused, dedicated process of transforming a sketch into a complete, closed music piece. I hope that something of value was transferred during this meeting, what will make fresh things blossom.
