BTS collective is back with the fourth release on their label: ‘Selem’ EP by MERVH. The Turkish-born, Warsaw-based producer makes her debut with a 3 track digital EP backed with remixes from Violent, HATELOVE, and Sekulahr.
The release opens with ‘She Is Gone’ in which haunting vocals that establish an elegiac tone drift over an entrancing beat, up till a cathartic indurstialesque climax. The atmosphere becomes even more dense on „The Death Was Near” where fast and heavy drums meet melancholic yet ecstatic pads, urging for a frantic dance. MERVH downs the tempo again into industrial mode on the final original track ‘Endless Longing’ which finishes off with an epic synth line. Violent’s cinematic rework of ‘She Is Gone’ continues the sublime atmosphere in a complex yet smooth 8-minute composition that takes the listener on a purgatory journey. Next up, HATELOVE reinterprets ‘The Death Was Near’ into a merciless galloping banger in his signature style. The final remix is Sekulahr’s stepping and atmospheric rendition of ‘Endless Longing’ which eventually turns into trance mode for a grand finale. In memory of Selem.

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new video from MERVH. The Turkish-born, Warsaw-based producer comes forth for her debut EP, Selem,  on Poland’s Behind The Stage (BTS). The release includes three originals and three remixes from from Violent, HATELOVE, and Sekulahr which traverse moods, emotions and more for six tracks of powerful industrial and techno fit for the floor or a mind trip at home. The EP was inspired by loss and you can feel the tension, anger and grief throughout the record. Today we premiere the video for the excellent “The Death Was Near” by Vitia Aberamok. Triple vinyl V/A release 'The Sight' serves as a charity compilation created in celebration of the 30th edition of "Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy" (or WOŚP for short), which translates to "Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity". This organization helps Polish hospitals by providing the necessary equipment to save the health and lives of children.

@abuzeinah and @mareknalikowski revived their Feral Rite project to contribute to the massive compilation with a monster of a track spanning different styles, aptly titled 'Mutate'.

A singular and unique triple package of this release is auctioned via Allegro and can be bid for until 7th February. All gains from the auction go to WOŚP, after which all three records will be available separately via @unknowntimeline, both physically and digitally.

Unam Zetineb swoją podróż przez krainę muzyki elektronicznej rozpoczął w 2001 roku. W kolejnych latach rezydował w klubie Itaca w Sewilli, grywał w wielu awangardowych klubach w mieście aby następnie stać się częścią kolektywu "It's Amazing Global Entertainment". Swoje sety prezentował w różnych miejscach Andaluzji, Gijon, Madrycie, Berlinie, Włoszech oraz na Hiszpańskiej edycji Creamfields. Rok 2011 to początek jego własnych produkcji, które wydał na takich labelach jak Labrynth records, Ketra rec. Sonntag Morgen, Fluxus rec. CRS recordings, Elektrax Recordings, etc. Tego samego roku został rezydentem legendarnego klubu Sala Cosmos, w którym rozpoczął też swoją działalność promotorską tworząc kolektyw Darksite.  Działalność Darkside przyciągnęła uwagę wielu znanych artystów, między innymi Dave’a Clarke’a. W marcu 2012 sławny wokalista Martin L Gore z Depeche Mode umieszcza utwór Unama „Why” jako jeden z najlepszych w swoim miesięcznym zestawieniu top 10. W 2013 razem z Markiem Morrisem tworzą własny label "Mano Recordings". Jego produkcje grają tacy artyści jak: Rodhad, Oscar Mulero, Reeko, Christian Wunsch, Tommy Four Seven, Takaaki itoh, Dustin Zahn, DVS1 etc.

Gościem szóstego odcinka naszych podcastów jest Deepbass. Urodzony w szkockim mieście - Glasgow, producent głębokiego, mrocznego i atmosferycznego techno.
Muzyczną pasję rozwijał od najmłodszych lat, wolne chwile spędzając w sklepach z płytami winylowymi poszukując nowych brzmień. To właśnie w tych miejscach ukształtował się jego charakter i gust muzyczny, gdzie największą uwagę przykuła głównie twórczość Speedy’ego J i Jeff’a Mills’a. Osobliwe i charakterystyczne brzmienia spowodowały zmianę w jego postrzeganiu świata muzyki techno. Ukształtowany konkretnymi brzmieniami stworzył swój własny, minimalistyczny, pełen ambientowych elementów i hipnotycznych rytmów styl. 
W roku 2010 otworzył własną wytwórnie – Informa Records. Ten personalny projekt stał się owocem i drogą do wyrażenia siebie i odkrycia nowych przestrzeni muzycznych. Po 4 latach istnienia, Informa Records stała się energicznie rozwijającym labelem, w którym swoje materie dźwiękowe wydali min. Modern Heads, Cio D'Or, Mark Broom, Edit Select, Echologist, Ness, Hironori Takahashi i nAX_Acid.
Twórczość samego właściciela labelu Informa, ukazała się za to w wytwórniach takich jak: Soma Records, Dynamic Reflection, Aconito Records and Planet Rhythm. 
Występujący na całym świecie artysta cieszy się popularnością i uznaniem w świecie muzycznym, na co dowodami są niewątpliwie występy w jednych z najlepszych klubów na świecie – Space na Ibizie i Berghain w Berlinie.

EN: Deepbass was introduced to the scene in 2009 his music is best described as deep, dark,atmospherical techno.
Born in Glasgow, Scotland. His passion for electronic music started from a young age where he would spend his weekends in record stores searching for music, he discovered artists like Speedy J and Jeff Mills who really opened his eyes to the world of techno. He started producing music in 2008 and from there his sound evolved, always minimalistic, elements of ambient, hypnotic rhythms and deep rolling bassline's. In 2010 he launched his label Informa Records as a platform to express himself and to explore further into his brand of deep techno.
The label is going strong has now had to opportunity to work with artists such as Modern Heads, Cio D'Or, Mark Broom, Edit Select Echologist, Ness, Hironori Takahashi, nAX_Acid and many more high quality artists. Deepbass has had a string of releases on some great labels such as Soma Records,
Dynamic Reflection, Aconito Records and Planet Rhythm
He has a number of live shows and Informa showcases under his belt which have takenhim to some of the worlds best clubs including Space, Ibiza & Berghain, Berlin.

Jedenasty odcinek to pierwszy podcast BTS w 2015 roku, którego gościem jest włoski producent i DJ – Ness.
Artysta swoją podróż z muzyką elektroniczną rozpoczął w późnych latach 90'. Jego ewoluujące zainteresowania i pasja błyskawicznie zachęciły go do rozpoczęcia kariery dj'a eksperymentującego z różnymi gatunkami - od transu do czystej muzyki eksperymentalnej. 
Mając doświadczenie w inżynierii dźwięku oraz wiele lat w poszukiwaniu i dostrajaniu brzmień, stopniowo ukształtował swój niepowtarzalny styl sfokusowany na atmosferycznym i hipnotycznym brzmieniu. 
W 2007 roku otworzył swój własny sklep z płytami w rodzinnej Sardynii (Włochy), a dwa lata później założył swój pierwszy label Mono Records. 
Uznany za indywidualny styl, Ness pracował z takimi wytwórniami jak Phorma (Szwecja), Synewave (USA), Dynamic Refleksja (Holandia), M_Rec Ltd. (Włochy), Informa (UK), Prolog (Niemcy), itp. Współpracował z takimi artystami jak Claudio PRC(1/2 The Gods Planet), Deepbass, Attemporal, Rasmus Hedlund, itp.
Aktualnie od 2010 roku razem z Claudio PRC współtworzy niezależną wytwórnię TGP. 
Muzyka Nessa i jego dj sety są ochoczo przyjmowane przez publikę i definiowane jako badanie szerokiej gamy głębokiego i hipnotycznego techno oraz muzyki ambientowej.

EN: Ness began his electronic music journey in the late 90's and his evolving interest and passion soon encouraged him to start a dj career experimenting with various genres – from trance to pure experimental. With a background in sound engineering and many years of research and fine-tuning, he gradually developed a distinct personal style with a strong focus on atmosphere combined with hypnotic vibes. In 2007 he opened his own record store in his hometown in Sardinia (Italy) and 2 years later he founded his first label - Mono Records.
Acknowledged for his individual style, Ness has worked with labels like Phorma (Sweden), Synewave (USA), Dynamic Reflection (The Netherlands), M_Rec Ltd. (Italy), Informa (UK), Prologue (Germany), etc. and collaborated with artists like Claudio PRC half member of The Gods Planet, Deepbass, Attemporal, Rasmus Hedlund, etc.
Currently he is running TGP - an independent platform established since 2010 with Claudio PRC.
Ness music and dj sets are well accepted and defined as an exploration of wide range of deep and hypnotic techno and ambient soundscapes.

BTS Podcast 011 - Ness

The 12th chapter with Luigi Tozzi

Born and educated in Rome, the young Italian producer Luigi Tozzi was strongly influenced by the roman scene and its local artists, many of whom gave a crucial contribution to the birth and growth of the deep techno sound.
Luigi’s music has so far been released on the established label Dynamic Reflection as well as setting a regular cooperation with the very promising and mysterious techno label Hypnus Records from Sweden, where he found a platform that inspired him to develop his style. Melting the tribal and hypnotic elements of techno with the atmospheric and emotional side of ambient music he is making his own path in the world of electronics.
Recently this has gotten him in contact with Dino Sabatini which led to the opportunity to join Outis Music that has released well known artists such as Modern Heads, Brando Lupi, Donato Dozzy among others.
Besides attracting the interest of Dino, his music has also caught the ears of other great artists such as Claudio PRC, Edit Select and Deepbass who all will be remixing his music later this year.

BTS Podcast 012 - Luigi Tozzi

Gościem czternastego epizodu BTS podcast jest Gianluca Meloni, urodzony w Rzymie, dj, muzyk, producent. Wykształcenie muzyczne pobierał w konserwatorium Świętej Cecylii w Rzymie. Jego wielka muzyczna pasja rozpoczeła się wraz z odsłuchaniem pierwszego albumu Tangerine Dreams. Był pionierem w latach dziewięćdziesiątych we Włoszech, wprowadzając na podziemną scenę muzykę elektroniczną na której rządził głównie progresywny rock. Jego największym dokonaniem w tych latach był album "Strani Sogni" z grupą Sig V.
Wraz z poznaniem Dino Sabatiniego, z którym połączyła go przyjaźń i pasja do muzyki elektronicznej, stworzyli duet "Modern Heads", grając w najbardziej prestiżowych klubach na całym świecie. Parę lat później, razem z Carlo Alfano, stworzył projekt "notfromearth" wydając na uznanym, niemieckim labelu Prologue. W 2013 roku uruchomili nowy projekt pod nazwą "Light Spheres" debiutując z nim na Noise Ressistance Records. W 2015 roku wystartował z solowym projektem "Laertes", projektem inspirowanym podróżą do Hadesu, wyrażaną za pomocą muzyki. Jego album wkrótce zostanie wydany na Outis Music.

EN: Gianluca Meloni, born in Rome , made his musical path trough different styles; has been studying Piano at “Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Roma”. His big passion about music starts back when he after being listening to Tangerine Dreams first album. He was a pioneer in the 90′s and was able to insert electronic seeds into an underground scene mainly ruled by progressive rock; his most important contribution in that period was to the album “Strani Sogni” of the band SIG V.
When he mets up with Dino Sabatini, after a studio session and a very solid friendship, based on their common passion for music, starts to grow between them; that amazing duo soon became the “Modern Heads” project, leading both of them to play in some of the most prestigious clubs around the globe. Some years later Gianluca together with Carlo Alfano became the founder of the project “notfromearth“, released music on Prologue label. 
In 2013 began the new project, Light Spheres on Noise Resistance Records.
In 2015 Start new Solo project LAERTES inspired by the trip to Hades, where travel is in the music. Album will be released soon on Outis Music.

Blurred Line is the result of ISNT’s sonic explorations at the intersection of ambient, techno, and film  music.  It  is  hypnotic,  spacious,  and  infused  with  an  undertone  of  unease.  Rhythmically,  it  draws inspiration from industrial and electro, yet it is not entirely designed for the dance floor. The album was created during different phases of the artist’s life. Some of the tracks stem from her work  on the soundtrack for the 1924 silent film The Hands of Orlac, others were developed during jam sessions , while some are variations on live material performed before the pandemic. Despite its varied origins, the album is unified by the artist’s distinct modus operandi.

Antonio was born in Rome in 1987. Since his childhood he got deeply passioned into the world of electronic music.
He was and he still is strongly influenced by the sound of loved artists such as Donato Dozzy, Robert Hood, Jeff Mills, Plastikman, Aphex Twin and many other pioneers of techno music. 
Suddenly, he decides to begin to study electronic music and start with the realization of some project.
Actually he find himself and his real ideas of techno with Edit -Select Records,which will release his debut Album in 2016.
The base sound that characterize his production comes from a blend of ambient and  hypnotic-techno music, thus unveiling the ultimate goal of his artwork: create an elegant mix made from structures purely techno, but overwhelmed by deep atmospheres.

OTHK is a duo from Poland based in Sopot. Katarzyna Dąbrowa and Łukasz Gierszewski started their carrer with 1986 EP released on Berlin-based label Monolith Records. Their track "Ruin is Good" was released on a 12” V/A compilation by Italian label Scuderia, also featuring Ayarcana, Luciano Lamana, BR1002 and Tolebham. OTHK made their live debut in Kraków at Szpialna 1 in 2017, sharing the stage with Ontal. Their fully modular, improvised live acts make much use of distortion and saturation, haunting reverbs and delays as well as unusual pitch modulation effects, combining ambient drones, industrial wave, field recordings and a raw modular sound. The result is dark, hypnotic techno with noise and acid flavours.

Her dj sets can be heard during many parties in Poland, electronic festivals (Mayday Poland 2017, Plotzlich Am Meer, Kaskada Festival, Summer Contrast where she made mental notes for her b2b with Robag Wruhme) and also in Berlin and Potsdam. She is also a co-originator and copromoter of BaBsKie GraNie parties, where she and her friends promote women as musicians.

T A K A a.k.a. Joanna Rynkowska is a charismatic performer whose inherent attribute is the KORG EMX-1.

T A K A debuted in 2015 on the techno stage as a half of the Based On Lies project, with which she performed at Corsica Studios in London. After moving to London, she shaped her taste and created T A K A, a solo project with which she made her UK debut during the Siren Party. After two years of numerous performances, she got her first release under the LDNwht label and soon after her track was released on a Mord Records compilation. However, not only Londoners, Polish techno freaks love Joanna too. She is also a resident of Frequent defect from Beirut.

She’s been pumpin’ it since 2017 and has been invited to play at numerous events in Poland, including popular open air parties, festivals, as well as various clubs, alongside some of Poland's top techno DJs and producers.

Raised in small town Indiana on a musical diet of 80s synth pop and punk rock, Noncompliant soon found barnyard raves and warehouse techno parties and (as DJ Shiva) quickly became a fixture of the fabled 90s Midwest USA rave scene. Two decades and a name change later, she is at the top of her techno game. Mixmag named her one of 2017’s Top 20 Breakthrough DJs. She owned a packed and sweaty Boiler Room during Movement Detroit, turned in mindblowing mixes for Slam Radio, Discwoman, and Resident Advisor, and quaked some of the world’s most respected dancefloors like Smartbar Chicago, Amsterdam’s DeSchool, Concrete in Paris, and Berlin's legendary Berghain. As a producer, her releases and remixes on labels like Valence, Argot, Flash, and Dark Entries have pounded sound systems worldwide, with her tune “Women’s Work” landing on Fiedel’s official Berghain 08 mix and on his label Fiedeltwo. In 2018 her forward momentum continues, with a residency for Los Angeles-based Into the Woods, a performance at Moogfest, and a tour schedule increasingly spanning the globe.

Apart from playing at clubs, she composes music for theater plays and performances, very often using her field and voice recordings. She co-creates the musical part of Kem initiative, which is focused on choreographic and performative practices.

Dyktando aka Wiktor Milczarek is a Polish DJ and producer based in Warsaw. Long-time associate of the notorious party/record label Brutaż, his productions are a mix of EBM, new wave and electro music, often with vocals sampled from obscure Polish post-punk bands. He performs both live and DJ sets.

This mix was recorded on a Sunday afternoon using two turntables and Xone:92 mixer.

BTS Podcast 122 - Dyktando

Warsaw’s long-standing BTS collective inaugurates its label with a limited cassete compilation, including music from both guest artists and the collective’s members. Featuring 11 tracks from up-and-coming or under the radar Polish artists exclusively, the release showcases the diversity of the local electronic scene and at the same time tells a coherent story from start to finish. 

The album opens with an explorative endeavour from Lensk of Mestiço fame, which already sets a melancholic mood, picked up by Jaxe’s Detroitesque acid cut. Side A continues with a stepping electroid workout by ISNT through Adam Czarnecki’s freaky techno and Tonallaxe’s heavy stomper, finished off with a dreamy stepper from T A K A. Side B verges into more industrialesque and cyberdelic territory with tracks from OTHK, Feral Rite and Marek Nalikowski, before winding down to Abu Zeinah’s hypnotic techno and Fau’s hazy breakbeats.

Klaudia Olesiak a.k.a k.o is a Polish DJ and a part of @dngnbeats gang/collective of like-minded promoters and DJ's presenting underground bass music in various events across Poland. Vinyl and it’s sound has always been the love of the Wroclaw artist Aksamit. In her compositions, you can find hypnotic sounds of ambient, deep techno and tribal.
A Wrocław DJ, a resident at Projekt Pralnia, a founder of Affekt and
Velvet Vortex, is definitely rising talent in the polish techno scene. Her love of vinyl led her to the Berlin club Tresor, in which she played during the iconic Klubnacht & All You Need Is Ears. Currently, she has performed in most Polish clubs and festivals - Wisłoujście, Revive, Instytut, LAS Festival, Kaskada Festival and Audioriver Festival. She has also performed outside of Poland - Germany, Spain, Andorra, Denmark, Ireland and the UK. She recently won the Polish Club Stage award in the Munoludy plebiscite in the Discovery of the Year 2018 category.   During her short 3-year history with techno music, she had the honour of playing alongside such artists as Dasha Rush, Ellen Allien, Chris Liebing, Keith Carnal, Neel, Takaaki Itoh, Perc, Monoloc, Tadeo, Introversion, Luigi Tozzi,  Claudio, PRC, Korridor or Refracted.

BTS Podcast 151 - Aksamit

We proudly present the second release on our label: ‘Silurian’ EP by Abu Zeinah. The Berlin-based artist delivers three moody yet driving tracks in his signature ‘alien techno’ style, coupled with remixes from sch_tsch, Fau, and Marek Nalikowski.

The EP opens with ‘Gobi’, a groovy and eerie affair that establishes the work’s menacing character. Following next is ‘Nāga’ which combines the trademark eeriness with a tough drive, based on a reptilian bassline and bolstered by dizzying synth swarms. The final original track ‘Hydra’ is built around playful strobe-like bursts that appear and disappear within a hypnotic beat, bringing the tension to boiling point. Further on, Marek Nalikowski reinterprets the track as a stripped-back workout that alternates between a straight and a stepping groove, while Zurich-based sch_tsch (of Kashev Tapes fame) reimagines ‘Gobi’ into a fast and furious frenzy that’s sure to bring serious dancefloor havoc. The EP closes off with a crafty remix of ‘Nāga’ provided by Fau, who turns it into a breakbeat-fuelled stepper with dreamy pads on top, drifting into a state of bliss.

BTS collective is proud to present the third release on their label: ‘Hack The Fear’ EP by Marek Nalikowski. The Polish producer’s debut digi EP consists of 3 original tracks backed with remixes from ISNT, Abu Zeinah, and Piotr Figiel.

Opening the set is ‘Spin System’, a big room roller more than apt for proper peak time action. Nalikowski ups the tempo on ‘Rattlesnake’, a fast and furious affair hammering down relentlessly from start to finish. The final original is the title track ‘Hack The Fear’ which sees the producer switch to stepping mode, the result being a funky and bleepy workout complete with a menacing, cyberdelic atmosphere.

The EP continues with Piotr Figiel’s remix of ‘Hack The Fear’, a tense stomper showcasing his signature style. Following next is ISNT’s reinterpretation of ‘Spin System’ which combines an infectious, raw groove with unexpected breakdowns. Finally, Abu Zeinah delivers another remix of ‘Hack The Fear’ driven by a manic synth line with elements of the original carefully built around it.

Over the 7 years of existence they helped to organize over 100 events in various location on which they debuted/booked artists like: Legowelt, Powder, Lokier, No Moon and many many more. Aetha about her podcast "This podcast is my personal protest, story and musical interpretation of events from the last few months that are happening on the streets of Poland."

Aetha, originally from Lublin is one of the most important pillars of Kraków club scene. She started DJing in 2014 under a Jot moniker where she shared her love for psytrance and occasionally played techno. After some time she decided to separate her musical paths and continue her adventure with techno under the Aetha alias. 
Aetha is very involved in the local scene. In 2018 she was part of Szpitalna 1 club crew where as an Event Manager she was among others responsible for managing Open Decks nights. This Wednesdays events were bringing fresh energy to the scene and helped raise a new generation of DJs. She is now a Booker of STK47 Warehouse, the most underground spot on the Krakows map. Aetha is also part of the Vultur crew under which she throws techno parties with Rraph and Diabot. Aetha performed in almost all major cities in Poland and showed her skills on international dancefloors in Berlin, London, the Czech Republic, or Slovakia. In 2019, she joined the lineup of the Instytut Festival and performed at New Faces party cycle in Tresor. 
In her sets Aetha focuses on presenting various surfaces of rhythmic techno. Her performances are always well-thought-out and filled with emotions. She is famous for her great mixing skills and captivating dancers during long sets.

BTS collective is back with the fourth release on their label: ‘Selem’ EP by MERVH. The Turkish-born, Warsaw-based producer makes her debut with a 3 track digital EP backed with remixes from Violent, HATELOVE, and Sekulahr.

The release opens with ‘She Is Gone’ in which haunting vocals that establish an elegiac tone drift over an entrancing beat, up till a cathartic indurstialesque climax. The atmosphere becomes even more dense on „The Death Was Near” where fast and heavy drums meet melancholic yet ecstatic pads, urging for a frantic dance. MERVH downs the tempo again into industrial mode on the final original track ‘Endless Longing’ which finishes off with an epic synth line.

Violent’s cinematic rework of ‘She Is Gone’ continues the sublime atmosphere in a complex yet smooth 8-minute composition that takes the listener on a purgatory journey. Next up, HATELOVE reinterprets ‘The Death Was Near’ into a merciless galloping banger in his signature style. The final remix is Sekulahr’s stepping and atmospheric rendition of ‘Endless Longing’ which eventually turns into trance mode for a grand finale.
