Revelation of Sound is pleased to present Aspetuck, an American producer & DJ fascinated by groove & rhythm as well as the hypnotic nature of the deeper sides of electronic music.
Growing up in sleepy Vermont, without easy access to any inkling of a nightlife scene, the internet was Aspetuck's only form of musical discovery for those formative days. Years later, after living in both Brooklyn and Los Angeles, Aspetuck was very quickly drawn into the robust nightlife cultures of both cities that was so absent in the rural hills of the northeast. He is not only inspired by the current scene but also heavily inspired by genres outside of
the contemporary electronic world including but not limited to krautrock, dub, new wave / post-punk, shoegaze, jazz, soul & funk. Immersing himself in both music production and photography, two creative outlets that seemingly complement & balance each other, he is quietly finding his voice with the help of a broad range of influences to draw from.

Two hours in the center of Tokyo with the best sound I've ever heard, dream line-up including Chida, 5ive and Powder and the perfect crowd that stayed until the very end. If there is ever a 100 out of 100 party, when you don’t have to prove anything behind the decks, but instead, just enjoy the ride, this one came the closest. RA pick, full room, no photo and video, family soundcheck, tons of friends, four channels, and alpha mixer. What else do you need?

Recorded live at Horoom in mid-March comes this next instalment from Copenhagen representative Martin Gilleshøj. The DJ, co-founder of KUNE music and arts festival, co-founder of Axces Recordings (and their event series), and head at vinyl dispensary Proton Records is a bulwark of the Danish scene. Alongside pals like previous Bassiani Podcast guest Kasper Marott, Søren Kinch and Popmix he’s been key to his city’s cultural offer, blending groovy dancefloor tracks irrespective of narrow genre categorisations with a focus on high-energy nighttime turnouts. It’s a witty spin on clubland fare, iconoclastic and highly danceable stuff that keeps the happy chemicals unanimously flowing. Another plate to spin: he also now runs Buttheads, an intimate club series turned into a record label for the work of selected friends. Through all these outlets, Martin unravels the common thread that binds his work together, laying open a mix of styles and developing something fresh in their coming together. For Bassiani Podcast 261 Gilleshøj flexes his DJ muscles and delivers three hours of wobbly prime time bangers. Fluid, shapeshifting and soulful rhythms, slick selecting flawlessly woven together, a gradual build that perfectly epitomises Horoom’s spirit.
