그를 처음 만난날 내앞에 앉아있는 그를 보면서
가슴 떨림에 고른 호흡하기 어려웠다는걸
커피잔 들때 바들바들 떠는 부끄러운 손 보이고 싶지않아
일부러 마시기 편한 쉐이크로 주문했다는걸
그렇게 태연한척 차분한 모습 보이려
무척이나 노력했던 나를 그는 모릅니다.

그를 두번째 만난날
들뜬 기분에 약속시간보다 30분 먼저 도착한 나
우산을 접으며 입구로 들어오는 그를 보면서
주님께 짧은 감사기도 드렸다는걸
그날 그가 너무나 멋있어 보인다고 참 근사하다고 말하고 싶었지만
차마 말하지 못했던 나를
그는 모릅니다.

그를 세번째 만난날
걷는걸 별로 좋아하지 않던 내게 걷는 즐거움을 느끼게 해주었던
아빠손 말고도 편하게 잡을 수 있는 손이 또 있구나 하고
생각하게 했다는걸
그는 모릅니다.

그를 네번째 만난날
내손이 다른 사람보다 유난히 좁고 길다는 얘기에
잠들기전 침대에 누워 손바닥 펴들고 요리조리 살폈다는걸
손이 차가운걸 별로 좋아하지 않는거 같아
그를 만나러가는 동안 내내 손을 접었다 폈다하면서
따뜻하게 만들었다는걸
오늘은 손이 따뜻하내 라는 그의 말에 내심 기뻐하던 나를
그는 모릅니다

그를 다섯번째 만난날
내게 줄 선물을 준비하느라고 늦게온거면서
괜히 내 눈치만 보던그 그런 그가 너무 귀여워
꼭 안아주고 싶었지만 택시기사 아저씨 눈때문에
그저 창밖만 바라봤다는걸 눈가에 눈물이 이만큼 고였다는걸
그는 모릅니다
둘이 나란히 앉았던 도서관 앞 벤치가
힘들일이 있을때 혼자 찾았던 그 벤치였다는걸
그 벤치에 더이상 혼자가 아닌 그와 있을 수 있어
더 큰 의미를 부여했다는걸
그는 모릅니다.

그를 여섯번째 만난날
한동안 만나지 못했던 그 시간내내
잠시도 떠올리지 않은적이 없었는데
그냥 보고싶었단말 한마디로 대신했던 나를
그는 모릅니다.
한강을 볼때 단둘이길 바랬던 내게
그의 친구와의 동행은 작은 실망이였다는걸
그는 모릅니다.

그를 일곱번째 만난날
그사람 앞에서 처음으로 눈물 보인날
눈물의 의미가 하루종일 연락하지 않은 그를 원망하는것도
무작정 기다린 시간이 억울해서도 아니였다는걸
그저 사람사이에서 부딪히며 치쳐있던 내게
그가 얼마나 큰 위안인지 그를 보는 순간
가슴이 벅차 흘린 행복의 눈물이였다는걸
그는 모릅니다

그는 아직도 모릅니다

‘Crystal’ out now- the lone single from Deer Park’s album debut on Deleted, Terra Infirma, out everywhere on April 4. 

Terra Infirma stretches out over the expanses of daydreamed production that have come to characterize the music of Deer Park. Drifting at ease between varied formal registers – production for London’s fakemink, drone shows in Parisian churches, sylvan Soundcloud ballads– Deer Park spins a sensibility from the meetings and departures of contemporary microscenes. Terra Infirma splits somewhat neatly into two halves. The first sees him crystallize an echoic guitar language out of traditional song forms, while the second works in repetitions and ellisions, electronic and acoustic. Dovetailing the two is a constellation of features– Chanel Beads (“Clear Sky Rain”), jackzebra (“Interlude”), Thomas Thatcher (“O My Soul”), and Ivy Knight (“Pharmacy”; “Clear Sky Rain”)-- distinct pop voices that at once situate and further mystify his own.
