Born atop the forgotten ruins of a crumbling city, a new civilization had emerged from the ruin wrought by demonkind upon the landscape that lay beneath them. Lead by their prophets of a new and powerful faith, the people of this civilization had risen up against the demon kings, wielding the magic of their divine allies as weapons with which to exorcise their being once more from the land. This war though hard fought had born fruit, and with the slaying of the final demon the people had rejoiced, celebrating their victories with monumental constructions to mark the beginning of a new and golden era. Foremost of these was the great cathedral that lay at the heart of their new city, built both as a space of worship for the populace and as an eternal ward of imprisonment for the souls of demonkind which could not be slain, forever condemning them to an incorporeal existence under the watchful eye of the divine.

Ages had passed since then, and time had once again ground its steady edge against the minds of the people and upon the stones and timbers that had supported the great city for so long. Ritual had been forgotten, and structures of greater grandeur had been built as the city expanded, relegating it’s once monumental cathedral to neglect. Thus it was that the falling of only a single candle had lit an aged timber in it’s great hall, in so doing weakening the ancient wards that had kept the demonic spirits at bay. Ever vigilant in their ceaseless desire to escape, the demon kings fanned this flame with their focused ire, nurturing it from a single mote into a overwhelming conflagration that tore at the runic chains that had bound them for so long. Before long, the roaring of the flames was augmented by the howls of demonic spirits set free from a millennia of imprisonment, their visages taking form in the fire as manifestations of their burning rage. As the inferno bellowed ever higher, the city cowered in fear, for it was clear that the time of DIVERGENCE had come once more.

EATBRAIN unleashes the full fury of their horde with the fourth installment in their DIVERGENCE compilation series, a gargantuan 26 track compilation filled to the brim with new tracks from EATBRAIN mainstays and newcomers alike. Brought together by their affinities for EATBRAIN’s unrestrained neurofunk sound, the artists within deliver a tour de force of the label’s guiding philosophy with ferocious basslines and terrifying sonic atmospheres alike, delivering a mammoth series of tracks set to inspire the fervor of the label’s horde in the months to come.

The famous duo Agressor Bunx are back, bringing with them the slick, neuro infused basslines which saw their meteoric climb to the top over the past two years. After being discovered amongst the explosion of newcomers who've come through across the scene recently, Agressor Bunx have stood the test and time after time drop some of the nastiest cuts which have been premiered in sets throughout Europe. And welcoming them back is Ignescent, a label who've certainly been making themselves felt this year and who will continue to do so by releasing music of the same calibre.

This next single has been greatly anticipated not just by fans of Agressor Bunx, but also by the wider drum & bass community. Already doing damage on the decks, ‘Magic Clock' and ‘The Suffering' have made the rounds recently and continue to cause destruction to every crowd they're played across.

‘Magic Clock' begins with ominous ticking, drawing itself out for a climatic drop. Rolling out on intimidating atmospherics and drums which eerily sift their way through the mix and become more prominent as the track progresses, Agressor Bunx creating a perfectly foreboding intro. It's not long before all-out chaos ensures, with a bass that cuts through the composition aggressively and pounding drum loops crashing at every angle. The producers have once again catapulted you into their world, a place renowned its chaotic soundscape.

‘The Suffering' comes next, winding up on softly elevating pads which juxtapose its metallic, clattering percussion and slow descent into anarchy. The track then lifts itself into minimal waters, drawing out on a succession of flying beats and pitched up bass to create a disjointed, dystopian feel. Agressor Bunx switch the vibe for ‘The Suffering', an understated but still aggressive, terrifying force. A ricocheting hook snaps up between its layers, helping to drive the record forward and proving that Agressor Bunx can create a catchy rhythm which still scratches deeper with every twist.

Alongside Agressor Bunx, Ignescent are taking you along for their progressive rise to the top. And it's an ascent which doesn't look like it's ending anytime soon.

Kinetik Records are well known for bringing their sound across subs and on club stages throughout the European circuit, with this next release providing a snapshot into the reasons for their archaic reputation. Having played host to a huge range of artists, including some of the most promising prospects such as Brainpain, ChaseR, Redpill and more Kinetik bring a three-track EP from Imadeus into the forefront of their discography. Following their devastating ‘Kinetik Records Goes to Let it Roll EP’, which saw them take pride of place alongside the drum & bass mecca’s back catalogue of music, this forthcoming release from the label will see a welcome return to the sound which has seen them rise to notoriety. 

The ‘Voyager 1’ EP pulls together a selection of neuro infusions to present a multi-faceted production standard and a set of tracks sure to cause absolute annihilation on the dancefloor. Imadeus goes for the musical arteries, hitting harder and harder with every crunching layer of sonic and your first experience of this is through title-track ‘Voyager 1’, which is devastating in its breakdown and continues to punch with the same intensity after every cutting segment. Pounding drums, spitting stabs of bass and crackling distortion fill your ears when the track begins to build, adding piece after piece of its composition for a tightly knit purpose. It’s subversive in its detonation, providing a track that adds a welcome twist of versatility to Kinetik’s discography. 

‘Outward Flow’ presents itself next, a lumbering, melodic roller that catches you unaware with every twisting groove. It breaks out of every paradigm set up for the genre, with crushing sub bass and elevated synth peaking between every flowing break. Alongside ‘Red Spot’, which continues the same unwieldy vibe underpinned with shaking metallic percussion and a creeping bassline, Imadeus demonstrates how he’s able to hit the focal point of his production with every subsequent record on the EP. Together, they present a spectrum of sound which even the most longstanding producers could find difficult to tap into. Alongside the likes of Kinetik Records, Imadeus is set to move from one tier to the next, leaving no prisoners in his wake.

Standing for five years of innovation, the ‘Go Nen’ LP from Santoku represents half a decade spent by its label head crafting its most innovative releases. And alongside another game changing compilation, Logam has offered up fourteen brand new records which will signify why they’ve become such a revered icon within drum & bass, from the UK to the US. The LP also stands as a defining moment within the label’s evolution, drawing from their roster o a hugely diverse list of artists to present the whole colour wheel which has enabled Santoku to garner such a widely acclaimed reputation.

The best way for an album of this calibre to open is with the first collaboration between Logam & Mayhem ‘Centuria’, but it moves forward across a twisted skeleton. Amoss takes on ‘Centuria’ and brings it into a darker realm, nodding to the previous releases which have held Santoku in such high regard. Also featuring on the LP are brand new selections from the likes of Uttersounds, who offers up the pounding riddim ‘Size Up’. Sequential’s ‘Mass Transfer’ alludes to the contemporary digital era drum & bass has found itself developing in whilst Symplex & Camel jump on board for the understated yet melodic ‘Twilight’. Celebrated American newcomer ‘Des McMahon also makes an appearance with a switch up of ‘Dopamine’, presenting a carefully packaged VIP and Kodin adds his tearaway track ‘Valetudinarian’. Todd Buchler, Pish Posh & HammerZz add their sonic delivery ‘Fuego’, which plays to its namesake with hard-hitting drum patterns and crafted hooks. Then for the last exclusive, you’re introduced to Logam & Roger’s ‘Emrys’, the perfect manifestation of what Logam inherited with Santoku’s legacy.

This LP will sit pride of place within the label’s history and they continue to push the boundaries with every release. The ‘Go Nen’ compilation clearly shows that, creating a dynamic and versatile track listing which will further define the imprint’s worth within a colossal dance music market.

Forbidden Society is a name which many seasoned drum & bass fans will be familiar with. Not only is this the pseudonym of a tastemaker within the Czech Republic, it’s also the brand which the producer has built around his hard-hitting cuts. Jindrich Brejcha has built the label from its foundations and as a result, he’s become one of the most prominent musical influences hailing from its home country. However recently the new direction which he’s undertaken has resulted in him moving over from the otherwise cut-throat levels of bass he’s championed, to moodier, more rolling beat patterns which still highlight Forbidden Society’s darker undertones. 
The next part of his discography demonstrates the hard-hitting, finely tuned production which he’s become renowned for, although through a different lens. And it’s a course which his vast audiences will welcome with open arms, especially due to the high-arching skillset which Forbidden Society molds around this new sound. The ‘Deadbox’ EP features eight brand new selections, rolling through from its growling title-track, to the aptly named ‘FCK Publicity’. It’s an introspective look into the journey of Forbidden Society, one marked by tracks like the ones given a platform throughout the ‘Deadbox’ EP. 
‘RattleSphere’ with its shaking percussive patches drives you into the new sphere which Forbidden Society is reigning supreme over, whereas tracks like ‘Empty Eyes’ and ‘Rustler’ continue to move you into his subterranean depths. ‘Go to Hell’ and ‘Swag Walk’ follow his descent, whilst ‘Reason’ completely flips the switch, unveiling an unknown subsection of his musical landscape, one pinpointed by sweeping melodic layers. Then finally, ‘FCK Publicity’ is a lumbering, half-time delivery and ‘Deadbox’ is a raucous, heavy hitting offering with its slamming kick drums. 
The EP guides you through Forbidden Society’s change of course – but it’s one which still platforms him as a tastemaker of his craft. Something which certainly won’t disappoint his huge following.
