Modern classical drone on viola and three guitars. This is the first collaboration release between guitar drone equilibrist Aidan Baker (of Nadja, ARC et. al.) and A-Sun Amissa (of Glissando, The Rustle Of The Stars, Tomorrow We Sail et. al.) despite the two projects have completed two European tours together.

The recording was made in France and consists of a single take of all utilized instruments being performed in delicate coherence. The result is a bleak tangible atmosphere for both the weary and the restless.

With flashes of Gorillaz and Sleaford Mods ‘Surf’s Up’ comes fully formed with a bouncing bassline, angular guitars and cascading synth lines that bring the sound off the page. Robinson’s vocals once again abruptly grab your attention and playfully walk you through some advice to get you through the day.

The track features the core live contributors of Ben Robinson (bass & vocal), Simon Robinson (drums), Adrian Ingham (Guitar) and Angela Chan (synth & vocals). With Angela Chan making her vocal debut on a Hello Cosmos single.

Recorded at Blueptrint Studios with Tim Thomas (The Fall, Everything Everything) and mixed at Greenmount Studios Leeds by Lee Smith (Easylife, Holly Humberstone).

The Flight are east London production duo Joe Henson and Alexis Smith. They have written and produced for some of the top names in the music industry. The Hangman EP is their first outing as artists in their own right.

The EP consists of 4 diverse tracks which showcase The Flight's talent and potential. 'Hangman' is a modern re-telling of the folk song Pretty Polly. This song is a murder ballad, telling of a young woman tempted away from home into a the forest where she is killed and buried in a shallow grave. The rest of the EP is written from the viewpoint of the murderer, from first meeting the young woman to rueful ghost after his execution.
