It's rewarding to work as a technician: I hear new material from incredible artists first hand; I get to know and think about ideas I would never have; and then I have to translate this ideas into something I can manage, to understand the process and the specificities of the work in order to help to convey the artist's message in the best way possible. Quite a work, usually involving layers of different forces, such as technical and personal, aesthetics... And to be able to work with such close friends and strong creators, learning with and enjoying their works and, when possible, presence and conversations: it is a privilege. I could go on and describe each specific collaboration in detail but, please, visit the artists websites and bandcamp profiles and check the technical info. And, of course, listen to the music, to the non-music, read their texts, check their photos and incredible booklet designs, plenty of material to go deep!

Presented at Rio de Janeiro New Music Festival Novas Frequências in 2018

The new performance “Falha Comum” (“Common Fault”) is an allegory to the expectation of social performance, something recurrent in contemporary society. Through recordings of the sounds produced by different car engines, trebling and low, and the hitting of the pins, Egedy presents the conflict of a low-quality fuel usage scenario. The conflict is headed for the imminent explosion of the engines and constitutes a threat to the constant operation of these machines.

A performance inédita Falha Comum é uma alegoria à expectativa do desempenho social, algo recorrente na sociedade contemporânea. Por meio de gravações dos sons produzidos pelos motores de diferentes automóveis, graves/ruídos e batidas de pinos, Egedy apresenta o conflito de um cenário de uso de combustível de baixa qualidade. O conflito caminha para a iminente explosão dos motores e constitui uma ameaça ao funcionamento constante dessas máquinas.
