Originally penned when I fell for Ben (in Australia) but didn't know our future together. Demoed with David Mills in his home studio in Esh Winning while waiting in UK with band The Mercy Bell to secure a new deal in the USA. It is the closing song of the promo of my unfinished documentary "Seven Sisters...including me". Someone heard it and wanted it uploaded, as it is unreleased, so here ya go. x

new song, still working on it. some late night piano playing and later some vocals, it's nice trying my hand at composing the music aswell as my usual area (the lyrics and melody) so I am experimenting, pushing myself and finding that fresh, new things happen. This is dedicated to my friend - who's experience of a long term partner was not very life giving.

Different to me

Today

Written on a swinging porch chair out on a Nashville patio, having just left the 'newly met' love of my life behind in Australia to start life for the first time in the USA. Recorded as a 'demo' during our signing with Interscope and performed still now in new band Belle of the Ball (with said 'love of my life')or by myself accapella. Little birdie (London Demo)

Written during The Mercy Bell years in USA, signed to Interscope Records, LA. 
It was a difficult, promising and overwhelming time.

We now mostly play it as a trio with Benjamin Burns and Josh Thomson at Belle of the Ball shows in London. Preferably on an old (slightly) out of tune piano.

Around the garden

another lo-fi demo - hiss and all, but I kinda like it like that. one day i'll do it proper like. i promise. Ben plays it on the piano live (not on the guitar  like this track - which is another tune sent to me by Josh from my old band - for me to write to) so it sounds different again played on the piano, it's especially nice when we get to play it on an old out of tune piano and I get to sing it really quietly... 
The song is about an argument with a less eloquent, "happy to just give in" partner.
