Understood (demo)

The word belleclose (in lowercase letters) comes from Christine Le Bœuf's french translation of Siri Hustvedt’s novel "The Enchantment of Lily Dahl". Singer-songwriter Catherine Thieron (voice, guitar) took this name in springtime 2002 and gave her first concert at L’Escalier (Liège, Belgium) in september 2005. Since then, she has opened for artists such as Paula Frazer, An Pierlé and Troy Von Balthazar at places like Botanique (B), Soundstation (B - may it rest in peace!), The Luminaire (UK) and Rockhal (L).

After transforming her project into a quintet in 2008, belleclose returned as an almost solo-artist in september 2010 to release her first e.p., "stories untold" with the precious help of Hélène Hauglustaine, Joël Keutgen and Gaëtan Streel.

belleclose plays a feminine songwriting, where a simple guitar contrasts with sensitive lyrics and a mature voice.

Since 2018, Catherine has been mainly active with The People Underground.
