Bellemont's "Down To The Harbour" is the first single of their debut album (a double one no less), to be released later this year. The single is a prime example of the concept of the album:  each song will be released in both a "rough & pure - five musicians playing live in a vintage  1942 recording studio, every breath, crackle, and mistake left on tape", as well as a "radio edit" version: the exact same recordings, but this time embellished, polished to a shine, and with extra instruments and vocals.
The theme of "Down To The Harbour" is deliberately ambiguous: "I'll take you down to the harbour, and set you free"… freedom through closure? Is it a ritual? Or a crime of passion after all? The truth will be in the ears of the beholder.

"Down To The Harbour" is Bellemont's eerste single uit het later dit jaar te verschijnen debuut-dubbelalbum. Het nummer demonstreert in de eerste plaats het concept achter de opnames van deze dubbelaar: het wordt uitgebracht in zowel een "fly on the wall bij vijf muzikanten live in een opnamestudio uit 1942, met geadem, gekraak en schoonheidsfoutjes" als in een "everything plus the kitchen sink" versie: met dezelfde opnames als basis, maar uitgewerkt, bijgekleurd en opgeblonken.
Het thema van het trage en gestaag opgebouwde "Down To The Harbour" is bewust ambigu: "I'll take you down to the harbour, and set you free"… komt de beloofde vrijheid na het loslaten? Betreft het een ritueel? Of toch een passionele moord? Aan de luisteraar om het in te kleuren.

"Down To The Harbour" est extrait du premier (double!) album de Bellemont, prévu pour la fin de l'année. Ce premier single est à l'image du concept de l'album : une version "brut de décoffrage" - cinq musiciens enregistrant live dans un studio des années 40, laissant sur la bande un craquement par-ci, un souffle ou un accroc par-là -, et les mêmes enrégistrements polis, enrichis d’instruments et voix extra révélant pour chaque titre une autre facette. Le thème de "Down To The Harbour" est délibérément ambigu : "I'll take you down to the harbour, and set you free" ... la liberté par l’abandon? Est-ce un rituel? Ou un crime passionnel, après tout? à l’auditeur de choisir sa version…
