It's been a minute since the last Ice-cream mix,

I originally made the first Ice-cream mix as a way to record all my favourite songs that i felt were perfect for a summers day partying in the sun. Like all good mixes I felt the Icecream mix should develop, so this mix does just that. 
Starting from warm disco, boogie, indie vibes into irresistible toe taping jam's one after the other. The first mixes were all my favourite tracks in this style but after I made them I was fresh out of great tunes. To be honest I didn't think I had enough great tracks to make another one so I put it on hold. 

It's been roughly 3 years but now I finally have a tonne more tracks to give you in this mix. This mix was originally recorded as a birthday present to my #1 fan and close friend Fabby for her 30th birthday. She inspired me to make one of these again and now I want to share it with the rest of the world.  enjoy!

This week the slightly odd, always entertaining Pleasant Giraffe is taking on the guest mix, drawing influence from 60's rock, jazz and disco, The Giraffes mixed is something really special, potentially one of the most interesting history lessons you might ever hear, this weeks guest mix hints at some of the influences that house music today still references, I for one loved it! also we talk shit and  the feature EP this week is the wonderful Pacifique EP by local hero 'Frames'. Back when I was going by Mr Belvedere, King Lee and I opened up the Chinese Laundry main room for the Dirty Bird Crew. It was an incredibly fun night and then the J. Phlip came on and tore it up.

I made this mix to be played on a rainy day. Its full of tracks that I like to zone out and stare out a window too. It ebb's and flows from slow soulful vocals to jazz music about heroine all the way to some building electronic favourites of Caribou and Kornel Kovacs. If the mix was a rainy day it would start with a light sun shower and end in a storm, but the kind of storm you love to watch whilst sitting safe and sound in doors.
