Here at Vapour we're ready to attack the second half of the year starting with this stunning new EP from Gai Barone.

Unbelievably, this is Gai's first full solo EP (first of many) having featured on the label with remixes of Kasey Taylor & Chris Meehan's classic - Simplicity back in 2020 and Kasey Taylor's - Mysterious Madness in 2024. The wait is finally over for the release of this EP which has been hammered by everyone you would expect. Lumia & Mixolydyan are two trademark Barone tracks in the Barone nature that we like here at Vapour.

Remix duties on Lumia come from another debutant to the label this year from Argentina as we welcome Mike Griego to the label with a stunning remix of Lumia already being hammered by Alex O'Rion and many more.

Get ready for a powerhouse of an EP from these two magicians.

@hokkaido-dance-club: A label not a disco on a north Japanese island, is helmed by Jordan Saxton (aka @Viers & @leekonitz) and Joe Sagar  - two pals from Leeds with a dirty habit of unearthing a gem. HDC have been somewhat quiet of late. Their most recent release being early 2017 from label honcho Viers; a sumptuous offering which left HDC fans all Oliver Twist - begging for more of that tasty metaphorical audio gruel. If you don't have a bowl yet - get one.

When we first heard this - it's safe to say we were a little surprised (pleasantly of course). Part of HDC's legacy has been their contributions towards the dance floor - four/four lead post 12am heaters. Medrea's (https://soundcloud.com/medreadj) 'Untitled' and this features Premiere kicks the record off as it means to go on - maintaining Hokkaido's gritty aesthetic with about as much saturation as the fat content in the porkiest of pies, yet veering (no pun intended) away from the hallmark stonk. Broken beats combining and interacting with etheral strokes and mechanistic hues throughout make for an immersive and entrancing listening experience. In more simple terms - imagine PS1's Duke Nukem gliding his pixely fingers across a Roland D-50 as part of a dystopian future-soul band. Still not with us? Just listen - s'good.

The @blaq-numbers crew have got a very special new album coming next year on cassette. 2018 will bring their largest release to date too... 24 tracks and remixes that build a summary of the label philosophy: starting with cozy boom bap over to disco influenced jams and even some darker tunes in the end. The tape consists of artists from the label roster and some faces they've wanted to work with for a while now.
