Greg and I were both away this week, so Discoholic Ken stepped in with his partner-in-groove Martin Max for a two-hour takever for Discoholics Anonymous. Ken treated us to fabulous first hour of summer tunes, Balearic beats and slow sexy grooves. Best listened in the sunshine with a cocktail in your hand.

Martin Max stepped up the tempo and the energy for the second hour with an eclectic hour of genres and flavours, mixing up disco, 80s, house and more. He's one of my favourite DJs and never fails to deliver dancefloor heat.

Hailing from Aberdeen,now Via Edinburgh, he stopped to pick up records. He’s been at it for over 30 years — started wi’ belt-drive decks at Uni house parties, ay the kind that’d wobble if ye sneezed, tossing a caber he then upgraded tae the mighty 1210s (which he still owns, keeps them cleaner than his dishes). My special guest this week was Kempton, who is part of the management team for NDC Radio. He plays a vital role in keeping the station running, and looks after all the uploading and scheduling of shows when the DJs can't broadcast live. And he's also a talented DJ, hosting his own show each Saturday called "Brothers in House" with station owner Yorkee. He's usually a house music guy, but this week he delivered a fabulous set of Soulful House.

That’s Pajo Do to his mates A wee Derry whippet with a bag full of bangers and a cheeky grin big enough to light up the Bogside. outstanding in his field he is Known for his top-shelf hosting duties with the award winning Spin City radio show (always cracking guests and pals dropping in for the flights of fancy. He’s a regular round the Derry haunts with many years he knows the score and the scene shouts to the the Derry Collective Crew keeping him on his toes he got the right ideas for a session — and tonight, he’s bringing that same calibre of sound to us: 2 hours too pluck the Hairy Banjo Strings, and drop the kind of tunes that’ll have ye shakin’ hips and Swinging Yer Pants like nobody’s business. between gig and live sets is where the real magic sparks: digs with attitude, old energy blended with new, throwbacks that’ll school ye, and promos fresh out the box. Sometimes YouTube cuts him off mid-flow, but does he panic? Not a chance.
