In a city of DJ transplants, the born and bred (East) Berliner Lucia Luciano is a standout in more ways than one. The DJ, community organizer, podcaster, model and co-founder of the popular Hoe_mies collective has become an unmistakable figure in a notoriously homogenous scene. Both in her former work with Hoe_mies, whose mission is to create safe spaces for marginalized people in a scene dominated by cis, white males, and in her distinctive sound as a DJ, Lucia Lu challenges the narrow conception and antiquated stereotypes of what “Berlin techno” looks like and sounds like, and most importantly, who it is for.

When people demand that the techno scene should be more diverse, it can mean many things. On one hand, line-ups should reflect the LGBTQIA+ communities that participated to the birth of the scene. On the other hand, the music should be varied and interesting. Justine Perry stands for diversity in both respects, pushing a timeless sound of fast-paced, deep and trippy grooves as well as advocating for more inclusion and the facilitation of safe spaces. The French but Berlin-based DJ and producer's passion for the craft allowed her to firmly establish herself in Paris and beyond, playing clubs like Rex Club, Tresor, Khidi, Radion, IFZ, ∄ club, or the old Griessmühle in Berlin.

She also graced many of the most prominent radio shows Europe has to offer like Red Light Radio Amsterdam, HÖR Berlin, Rinse FM or Clubbing TV and has released music on labels like DNC Limited, HET, Intra or Postdynamic.
