After taking out the inaugural NT Song of the Year for best Territory Tourism song in 2016, Darwin songwriter Ben Evolent is ready to launch his second EP ‘Next Time’.

‘Next Time’ is titled after the award winning track that scored Ben Evolent a free music video and resulted in his song featuring on a number of TourismNT video campaigns celebrating the fun, adventurous lifestyle of the NT.

Fitting, given Ben Evolent is a songwriter with a love of travel and the track ‘Next Time’ is a country/folk anthem for life lovers and adventure seekers.

Along with ‘Next Time’ the EP features new songs ‘Riddle’, ‘Larry Kin’, ‘Winner’ and ‘Gentle Friends’. The songs are spirited stories of exploration, kinship, loss and acceptance and traverse the genres of folk/reggae/blues/rock.

Award winning songwriter Ben Evolent lives up to his namesake. The Northern Territory folk/reggae/blues artist fills his songs with a healthy dose of raw emotion, relatable truths, loveable melodies and lively hooks.  And this generous style makes him one of the Northern Territory’s most loved songwriters and live performers.

His spirited songs about exploration, kinship, loss and acceptance warm the heart and inspire adventure. They’ve also won accolades with a prestigious NT Song of the Year Award in 2016 and several tracks being recognised in the finals in 2015.
