On a Steel Horse I Ride

This is easily the most complex piece of music that I have ever written, though it probably won't sound like it. I wrote this as an assignment using a compositional method called Tintinnabuli which was invented by the great composer Arvo Pärt. For those of you who are music theory nerds like me, try to figure out what key (or keys) I am in and what meter (or meters) I use. For the rest of you, enjoy what I am calling my attempt at Thomas Newman meets Arvo Pärt meets yoga music.

I wrote this for a class assignment. We were supposed to study a culture we knew nothing about and write a piece in one week. I chose to write a piece that blended traditional japanese instruments and scales with a epic hollywood sound (like The Last Samurai).
