I once met a gent of such perfect form,
I could not be content until duly informed,
Of what exactly I remained unsure,
The 'je ne sais quoi' of his allure.

He had the body of a spartan with a head to match,
A vessel, if you will, without a scratch,
Yes he held my mind and clenched a fist,
Did Brevet Brigadier General John A. B. C. Smith.

All lines of inquiry left me in the dark,
