Luke Slater’s most well known pseudonym Planetary Assault Systems is back in the fullest swing with 'No Exit', a standalone EP following his famed 'Deep Heet' installment series. 'No Exit' unmistakably bears all the hallmarks of Planetary Assault System, from mind-tripping and floor-stirring hypnotic energy to the theme of pushing the outer limits of unknown territories.
The EP kicks off with the title track, at its first breath of rolling beat already infusing an ample dose of psychedelic madness, which only to be intensified with the layers of digital chime tones that are constantly multiplying and shape-shifting. “Undertow” on the B side continues with the signature warping and reverberating bells and bleeps but this time with enticing hi-hats and distorted bass, gradually all melting into one big sinister groove. The last track of the EP “Nanendi” might fool you in the beginning with its minimalistic beat, but as soon as the demure yet ominous veil of melody - beautifully moody and almost spooky at times - starts humming and howling, it’s well on its way to make a deep, haunting emotional connection while keeps the tension boiling. Without a doubt 'No Exit' EP is the one that shows the most distinctive core DNA of Planetary Assault Systems and much like his seminal album The Messenger, it’s a deadly unique, dazzling, and powerfully effective work that will stand the test of time.

Foremost international techno outlet Drumcode is delighted to announce the release of its next full-length album, ‘Satellite’, by enduring Italian techno talent Sam Paganini.

Though he has been active since the mid nineties, recent years have been hugely successful for Sam, with searing techno EPs coming on revered labels such as Riche Hawtin’s Plus8, Sven Vath’s Cocoon and of course, Adam Beyer’s Drumcode. In his time he has been responsible for underground hits like ‘Zoe’, ‘Polyester’ and ‘Fire In My Arms’, all of which demonstrate his dynamic understanding of sexy, dark and hypnotic techno grooves and at the same time have earned him plenty of great Beatport chart positions as well as respect from the best in the game.

Incredibly, ‘Satellite’ is Sam’s first full-length album. Informed by his DJ gigs at legendary places like Berghain in Berlin and Cielo in New York, the album starts with a dystopian bit of sonic scene setting, as if a space ship is charging up ready to take off.

From there it’s a case of getting straight down to business. ‘Another Chance’ is a spacey bit of cantering techno and ‘White’ is rooted in devastating kick drums and is riddled with serrated synth lines that build lots of great techno pressure. ‘Down’ is an undulating bit of funky techno complete with choice vocal flourishes and tracks like ‘Lotus’ are prime offerings from the deeper end of the scale.

No two tracks sound the same on Satellite: Sam is always teasing out a new bit of texture, nailing a slightly different vibe or exploring different amounts of light and dark throughout the course of this most excellent album. This is evidenced by diverse cuts like ‘Dusty’, ‘Toxic’ and ‘Rave’.

Despite ‘Satellite’ being Sam’s debut album, it showcases his seductive style in all its glory across 12 fantastic tracks that will leave you begging for more.

Having initially released a pair of collaborative white labels featuring Lucy and Alex.Do over the last couple of years, Rødhåd’s imprint WSNWG notches up the pace with a vengeance in lieu of third instalment, foreshadowing another trio of joint EPs to be released throughout 2020 and including co-ops with Ø [Phase] (June), Daniel Avery (September) and Rene Wise (November). 

This also comes with the opening of a new chapter in Rødhåd’s career, as he will be starting to tour live in addition to his DJ sets, including dates at Berghain, Re-Textured Festival in London, Awakenings in Amsterdam; also joining forces with Sebastian Mullaert’s as part of his Circle Of Live project.

Borderless by essence, WSNWG’s aim is simple: showcase collaborations between Rødhåd and a variety of like-minded artists from various horizons, all recorded in the warm creative environment of his Berlin studio. ‘WSNWG003′ is the result of three sessions French techno stalwart Antigone and Rødhåd had in 2018 and 2019, with each of the tracks’ titles referring to the particular date it was made and recorded – understand ‘180702’ as 2nd of July 2018.

The journey starts off with the nostalgia-soaked, rolling punch of ‘180702.1’ – a number that justly epitomises both artists’ idiosyncrasies through a fine-tuned blender of near-classical emotional stir and gridlocked floor dynamics on a dubby tip. Delving further deep into post-industrial murk, its ‘.2’ counterpart casts a spell of veiled menace upon dancers and ravers through clanky assemblies of rattling drums, mirroring signals and brooding droney flights.
Flip it over and here’s ‘190709’ shifting the focus to breaks-heavy traction in powerful fashion. Riddled with mangled pep-talk samples, raucous machine howling and stuttering junglisms, the track spins in and out of orbit to entice the listener into a much physically demanding workout. Last but not least, no-nonsense floor-shredder ‘190904’ treats us to a brain-melting trip of fast-rotation synth loops, bleepy subs and fevered hi-hats that shall fit just right in the middle of any climactic buildup worthy of the name.

The saga of Techno Wars writes another chapter coming from the cosmic impact with the New World of Luigi Madonna expanded by the touch of Mr. Capriati, Analytic Trail is of course in its best activity moment. 
Markantonios label arrives at its Fourty Sixth Release with the same brilliant spirit of twelve years ago, the young wizard Roberto Capuano is the man of this exciting Extended Play called Sweet Willy that includes three original tracks and one remix of Spektre, the well known British duo Paul Maddox and Filthy Rich, owner of the amazing label Respekt Recordings.

&#8220;Sweet Willy&#8221; is the best example of the fusion between old school drum elements and electronic stabs and synths of new generation. A fat bassline spinning on the kick catching the energy of an acid violent synth, it seems to trip on a Space ship, astral big Techno room stuff.

The ship is landed on the Techno planet joining the deepest side of the Groove, where the listener can catch the &#8220;Sharpness&#8221; touch of the sound. Dark pads and mystic synths are the engine of the track, bassline surround the stellar machine in the vortex of the mood.

Spektre resumes the energies of Sharpness making a special remix, made by a gorgeous synth, straight techno drum elements and obscure ambient pads. A Perfect reinterpretation of the original mix that hold the listener to an astral introspective Techno trip.

A &#8220;Groovin&#8221; industrial track is the end line of this amazing journey, with metal hi hats and marked rides sessions. Different Vocal and Perc tricks mixed with pumping drum patterns take the people to jump up in the dancefloor, fascinating Instrumental Techno style.

Mr. Capuano is always on the right wave, no quiet music allowed, this sound is not addicted to faints of heart, Analytic trail is just a state of mind.

Roberto Capuano - Sharpness (Spektre Remix) [Analytictrail]

Being one of the most in-demand Techno DJs of our times, Ben Klock needs little introduction. His name has been closely associated with Berlin’s legendary club Berghain since 2005. His monthly residency has formed the backdrop to his international success, providing an invaluable platform for his ability to create a room rather than just play to it.

Much of his early career was marked by marathon sets – a signature that played a considerable role in nurturing his skills and reputation – but even the more compressed sets he shares today evidence an intricate narrative and sense of flow that defines him as a DJ. It was these inherent abilities that led him to compile the fabric 66 compilation in 2012, before winning the BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix of the Year award in 2015.

His releases on Ostgut Ton have become landmarks in the imprint’s history. 2009’s “Dawning”, the first of his collaborations with Marcel Dettmann kickstarted the label itself and remains a stand-out track in its discography. Another release of particular note is the Before One EP including “Subzero”, which many techno lovers still refer to as their gateway track into the whole genre itself. For many, however, it is his album One (2009) that best captures Klock’s talents as a producer. His skills as a remixer have also seen him rework tracks by a wide variety of artists, including Kerri Chandler, Depeche Mode, Robert Hood and Kenny Larkin.

Additionally, Klock curates with great passion his own label Klockworks, founded in 2006. With releases from DVS1, Stef Mendesidis, The Advent, Sterac, Etapp Kyle, Temudo and many more Klockworks became a synonym for unique, high quality Techno.

In 2017 Ben started his own event series PHOTON which is a unique concept show that blends light, architecture and music. Since then he toured PHOTON at special venues in major cities around the world such as Printworks (London), Gashouder (Amsterdam), Arca (Sao Paolo), to name a few. It quickly became a new standard for audio visual electronic music events. In 2023 the project returns after a pandemic induced break with a brand new visual and artistic concept.
