In 2005 Heiko used the original Souldancer on his album Spread on Kanzleramt (ka123) and here come the all fueled up mixes by Heiko Laux and the Buenos Aires top producer Jonas Kopp.

The duo’s astounding array of analog gear, a mighty rig they call “The Mothership,” acts as a vessel of funk grooves, house riffs, and irresistible rhythms as they take dancers on a trip through musical literacy. With each live set, the formidable force accomplishes a feat few can conceive of in the studio, and even fewer are able to recreate live. This is why Octave One is techno’s unrivalled live act.

With the last two releases on BEK Audio involving the champion sounds of Mark Broom, Mr. G, Speedy J and  Edit Select, this time full attention is paid to Gary himself. The EP shows three different flavours from a man known for his varying style but consistent quality.

'Feel It' leads with swinging bass, fading percussion and looping vocal in the archetypal Beck manner. The track swells throughout and has been a cornerstone of recent GB DJ sets.

'Paid Out' heads towards a groovier sound, but still retains the tension of 'Feel It'. Perfect for the stand-out and reflective moment in heavier DJ sets.

'Hillview' is a different beast. A dark, deep and hypnotic track smoulders in the whispering vocals and pulsing tones while sub bass and a thudding kick drum maintain the rhythm.

‘Camargue’ gets a fresh treatment on Drumcode, as a handful of techno’s finest give new life to an R&S classic. 

Coming from the studio of CJ Bolland and Portuguese journeyman The Advent, the track was born out of a golden age of Belgium dance music and first released in 1992. It stands as one of the most treasured pieces of vinyl in Adam Beyer’s collection and this six-part compilation of remixes and remakes marks a highpoint in Drumcode’s history. 

The package consists of a punchy pin-sharp 2019 version of the original, as CJ Bolland and The Advent polish the edges of their time-honoured rave favourite. Maceo Plex makes his return to DC after 2014’s ‘Conjure Dreams’ and his is a bustling industrial take, with distorted vox that gives way to sheaths of stirring melody, before the spine-tingling chords enter the fore and the cut drops into broken beats. Vintage Maceo. Enrico Sangiuliano delivers a trademark cosmic rework underlined by tribal bass stabs and twisted synth lines to accompany the famous riff. It’s an outstanding remake that’s already a big summer favourite for the Drumcode crew. Adam Beyer and Layton Giordani team up with their own groove-injected, future-focused adaption, all the while never losing sight of the misty-eyed spirit of the original. In contrast to the peak-time prowess of the other respective versions, rising Dutch talent Keith Carnal moulds a liquid smooth interpretation heavy on hypnosis and sparse drums. The Advent rounds out the package with his own fresh version, a whip-smart cut that chops and changes between pounding drums, dreamy synth interludes and warbled effects.

Being one of the most in-demand Techno DJs of our times, Ben Klock needs little introduction. His name has been closely associated with Berlin’s legendary club Berghain since 2005. His monthly residency has formed the backdrop to his international success, providing an invaluable platform for his ability to create a room rather than just play to it.

Much of his early career was marked by marathon sets – a signature that played a considerable role in nurturing his skills and reputation – but even the more compressed sets he shares today evidence an intricate narrative and sense of flow that defines him as a DJ. It was these inherent abilities that led him to compile the fabric 66 compilation in 2012, before winning the BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix of the Year award in 2015.

His releases on Ostgut Ton have become landmarks in the imprint’s history. 2009’s “Dawning”, the first of his collaborations with Marcel Dettmann kickstarted the label itself and remains a stand-out track in its discography. Another release of particular note is the Before One EP including “Subzero”, which many techno lovers still refer to as their gateway track into the whole genre itself. For many, however, it is his album One (2009) that best captures Klock’s talents as a producer. His skills as a remixer have also seen him rework tracks by a wide variety of artists, including Kerri Chandler, Depeche Mode, Robert Hood and Kenny Larkin.

Additionally, Klock curates with great passion his own label Klockworks, founded in 2006. With releases from DVS1, Stef Mendesidis, The Advent, Sterac, Etapp Kyle, Temudo and many more Klockworks became a synonym for unique, high quality Techno.

In 2017 Ben started his own event series PHOTON which is a unique concept show that blends light, architecture and music. Since then he toured PHOTON at special venues in major cities around the world such as Printworks (London), Gashouder (Amsterdam), Arca (Sao Paolo), to name a few. It quickly became a new standard for audio visual electronic music events. In 2023 the project returns after a pandemic induced break with a brand new visual and artistic concept.
