From deep, thick based progressive, sexy house and rolling techno to melodic and uplifting trance, Brisbane based DJ, Ben Koppe, feels an equal connection with a carefully selected handful of genres and finds it impossible to love one more than the other.  Inspired by some of electronic music’s most unique artists of past and present, Ben has the ability to take you on an eclectic and almost hypnotizing journey into his sound. 

A self proclaimed perfectionist, Ben engineers each of his sets with the aim of stirring emotion and energy within his listeners.  His relentless search for music that speaks his language and his architectural approach to the arrangement of his music ensures a diverse and seamless set each time.

Ben’s love for electronic music began in 1999, London, UK, when exposure to the likes of Sasha, Dave Seaman, John Digweed and the famed Gatecrasher events, sent Ben on a ruthless search every weekend for quality gigs to feed his new addiction.  His new-found fascination with electronic music and urge to create his own distinct sound, led him to his first set of Technics turntables, followed by almost daily visits to record stores to grow his rapidly increasing collection of vinyl.
After a four year stint in London, Ben returned to his hometown of Brisbane and established himself as a well known DJ in the local scene.

Since his return to Australia, Ben has had the privilege of playing at some of Queensland’s best venues including The Met, Bar Soma, Capulet, Electric Playground, Blush Nightclub and Skyroom and appears regularly alongside other locals at Brisbane’s prestigious super club, Family.  His energetic and enthusiastic presence behind the decks has proven to create an incredible atmosphere and his ability to read the crowd ensures the dance floor is never empty.
Along with regular local gigs, the highlights for Ben so far, were the opportunities to play alongside stellar international acts 4 Strings, Dave Seaman, Dennis Shepherd, Jody Wisternoff, Jaytec and Grammy nominated DJ/Producer, Andy Moor.

Where to now?

After years of searching for the perfect music to compliment his masterpieces, Ben says it is now time to also focus on his own musical creations.  There is no doubt that his experience; passion and ear for quality music will help him on his new journey into the world of music production.  If his story so far is any gauge for his success, expect to see big things from him in the near future.
