Chicago born and bred DJ, Producer Joseph Manumaleuna aka DJ Hyperactive needs little introduction to those versed in the history of techno.  As one of Daft Punk’s “Teachers” and “brother of the humble” according to Resident Adviser, his contributions to the underground continue to span generations.  Honing his skills in the highly influential scene and sound of Chicago in the early 90s, DJ Hyperactive gained instant international recognition and has since gone on to play the most legendary and lauded events and venues over the last 20 years, such as Orbit/ Leeds, Liquid Room/ Tokyo, Love Parade/ Berlin, Shelter, Smart Bar, Primary/ Chicago, Interface/ Los Angeles, Movement/ Detroit, Output/ Brooklyn, Tresor/ Berlin, Berghain/ Berlin and the list doesn’t stop there.  Also over the course of his career, he has produced over 100 remixes and original tracks, including classics such as ‘Venus’ & ‘Wide Open’ - Missile, ‘25HRs’ - Droid Recordings, “Music Box’ on his own imprint 4 Track Recordings, ‘Chicago’ - Contact, Truncate, Figure, Blank Code, Impact Mechanics, Nachstrom Schallplatten, CLR, to name a few.  DJ Hyperactivereturned to Chicago 2013 to reconnect with his family and musical roots.  His story continues with more gigs and more studio productions, with the difference being the experience and perspective that only a true veteran can possess.

Ahead of his appearance for On the 5th Day this coming weekend, we're delighted to bring you an exclusive interview and podcast (DJ set) from Poland's much cherished Michal Jablonski.

You've most likely noticed that Jablonski has been making some powerful waves on both the Polish and international techno scenes of late; waves formed of relentless energy, personality, punch and fearlessness - a pretty effective combo if you ask us! As an artist who has until recently focused on live performances mostly formed of entirely original productions, we’re super excited to hear how he jells together a hybrid set, ensuring the Jablonski flair the techno world is coming to love so much is woven throughout, ready to engulf room two revellers and take them on a mighty ride.​ Word on the street is that he has something pretty special in store for us!

What Michal conveys in his sets is also communicated through a library of serious, no messing about productions which we definitely recommend exploring, often with an industrial twist and heftier, mean underlying backbone which we've definitely found ourselves hooked on (released on the likes of New Rhythmic Records, Circular Limited and Sonntag Morgan, amongst others).

As if being inspired by Michal’s musical prowess wasn’t enough, getting to know artists like him is another one of the beautiful perks of what we do and so it gives us huge pleasure to be welcoming him and sharing this podcast and interview with you. This personal, heartfelt insight into Jablonski's world and the music he loves so much is the perfect stimulation for the body and mind and his recorded DJ set will no doubt leave you gagging for the weekend and what's in store for us.

Ben Long forma parte de Space DJz,  dúo afincado en Londres que comparte con su compañero Jamie Bissmire con el que ha publicado en sellos como Soma donde debutaron en largo en 1999 con On Patrol!. Un año antes funda el sello Potential Recordingz  para publicar su material en solitario y el de otros productores afines como Umek, Ade Fenton  o Chris McCormack. Con el tiempo lanzará al mercado el subsello Ergonomix más centrado en las Dj Tools.

Long publicará en sellos como Primate Recordings, Fuine Audio, Tortured Records o Pounding Grooves, entre otros. Más recientemente, el londinense debuta  en la plataforma EPM en 2014 con Toltec EP (título que remite al idioma de los indios mexicanos de antes de los mayas y los aztecas que se establecieron en Teotihuacán al norte del actual país norteamericano). La referencia cuenta con dos remezcladores de peso como Detroit Grand Pubahs y Darko Esser.

Born in Vitoria, Spain, Kike Pravda's interest for music comes since he was a child. His parents worked in a music store, so he always had near as all kind of instruments as analog machines.
 
Kike gets its first residence as dj, particularly in the old Club Pravda of his hometown. His good work behind the mixer attracted people from other cities, thanks to his exquisite selection of music, including music imported from USA, England or Germany, converting club Pravda in a reference at the time. Kike recognizes the influence from artists such as Basic Channel, Robert Hood, Joan Atkins, The Advent or Plastikman, and labels like Sinewave, Downwards, Axis, Counter Balance, Dynamic Tension or Tresor.

Thereafter, began a growing career that has led him to perform at venues and festivals as important as :

This has led him to share stage with world-class artists like Oscar Mulero, Ben Sims, Reeko, Exium, Jeff Mills, Dave Clarke, Regis, James Ruskin, Luke Slater, Takaaki Itoh or Surgeon, among many others.Given his passion for music, the next step in his career was clear. Kike soon started into production.

From then until 2007, many collaborations on labels like Labrynth, M_Rec, Injected Poison, Digital Reflection or especially Psychoskunk, with whom he worked closely on many references on vinyl and digital format.

But it was not until 2009 when he saw one of his dreams fulfilled as a producer, published in the Warm Up Recordings label, which released "Fear is the Enemy", which accompanied a work of Oscar Mulero remix.

However, 2012 is the year when Kike Pravda gives the final step. First, with a new release on Warm Up, "Queen of the damned" composed of two tracks and, again, a remix by Oscar Mulero. And then, with the creation of his own label, Senoid Recordings, for whose first reference was supported with a remix by Ben Sims and which already has played by hand of reel known artists like Chris Liebing, DVS1, Truncate, Exium, Oscar Mulero, or Marcel Flenger.

But both, Senoid Recordings as Kike don't stop there, and have confirmed their next big collaborations for future releases.

Children of Tomorrow ,Faut Section,Dust Recs, Injected Poison labels are the last works signed by Kike in 2016 being one of the 100 most charted artists in Resident Advisor .

2017 has been no less important for Senoid, sounding by Blawan Senoid 004 in Awakenings, and by artists such as Oscar Mulero, Samuli Kemppi, Shlomo, Shdw & Obscure Shape....

Shifted also played the record including it in the DJMAG.COM podcast, and Pan-Pot included it as one of the best tracks of December in 9 Essentials Beatport's chart.

Revelation Of Sound is pleased to present Don Woezik, a DJ and Producer born in Eindhoven, Netherlands. He moved to Sweden in 2001 and grew up in Malmö. He started as a drummer in his early days and began his love for percussions and hi-hats. With that in his luggage he evolved as a musician and moved his drumming skills to electronic devices & DAW's, where his journey started to elevate hard as both a producer, DJ & a promoter. He was one of the brains behind the collective called Kulturförening Malmö ("Malmørave") which was one of Malmö's most renowned underground clubs 2017. Right now, Don is also a resident & a promotor at the club & label called Substantiv, which is a hard working label & organisation for the benefits of the LGBT-community around the world. Substantiv recently released the 45 tracker VA called ''Pronomina'' which so far has gathered over 11,000 € for Amnesty's work for LGBTQIA rights projects, Pronomina II will be released 2020.

Don Woezik released tracks for labels such as Trau-ma, 7Teen Records, Substantiv, TMM Records, Street Life Rhythm amongst others.
