So it seems that I am walking
On a path that’s never ending
I’ve picked out many destinations
Still nothing satisfies me
And yet I find I’m leaning
Toward what I should be fleeing
I’m treading in the footsteps I’ve left 
Like it will end differently
And so memories are fading
At least that’s what I’m hoping
But then my dreams at night 
Remind me of everything taken from me.

I’ve got the burning in my stomach
Something’s burning me
I double over curse myself with self induced agony
I’ve got the burning in my stomach
Is something warning me?
I take the path of least resistance and go back to drunken sleep.

Now I find patience thinning
Like a worn out robe that’s fraying
I’m leaning back to take the strain
For all the good it does things
These empty words I’m saying
Empty words and deeds
I have a hunger in myself
That I’m unable to feed.

Go back to your drunken sleep
