Coming up on Hive Audio is Definition's newest musical outing, the Drums & Arps EP which adds another milestone to the career of the young Zurich-based artist who has been active on the circuit over a relatively short period of time but built some great reputation as a producer, remixer and label owner throughout the past five or six years.The title track Drums & Arps immediately draws attention and ravers to the epicenter of the dancefloor due to a very distinct and ultimately seductive uptempo groove accompanied by a slightly mysterious overall vibe and a beautifully crafted, crystalline synth melody spiralling along the lines of the track, providing scintillating fountains of joy throughout the tunes epic breakdown sequences.Paper Connection featuring Thomas Gandey on vocal duties provides more dreamlike vibes in its intro sequence before painting a widescreen panorama picture of (Neo)Trance-induced string layers and floating, slightly evolving melodies over a deep TechHouse foundation - an amalgamation of elements falling into place to create an early morning sunrise staple for this years festival season.Furthermore we see the 'Athea Remix' of Drums & Arps explore more muscular terrain, bringing forth a very peaktime focused energy alongside an array of slowly expanding, ever deploying melodic layers and partially fluttering midrange synth for a climaxing high octane boost that surely is about to put a smile on every punters face for a reason.

Robosonic and Son Little delivered an absolute bomb last year with ‘Drowning’, a deep house burner with the vocal fire of Son Little. Now it’s back with a few new sounds from Djuma Soundsystem, Cord Labuhn & Jansen, Chi Thanh and The Cheapers. The EP starts with Djuma Soundsystem and his deliciously minimal remix – he’s stripped the track down to the most powerful bits, creating a slow burning sensation. Next is Cord Labuhn & Jansen’s rework, giving a little extra dose of drama via arrangement and a darker kick. Chi Thanh then adds percussion to create an organic, natural feel while the track delivers a playful bassline growling from below as it rises and takes control. Shifting the focus to the arpeggios, The Cheapers create a smooth dub by reducing the track down while slowly revealing its secrets to dramatic effect. And finally, what remix package would be complete without an original for reference? Yep, we included the original club mix too.
