Following up on the release of his first EP on Madorasindahouse, Soulroots completes his endeavor with the album “Voices of Liberation”. 

Continuing the streak of the all-star collaboration roster, the 10-track album features Troymusiq Mnqobi Yazo, Toshi, Soul Star & Muscardo, Chaleee, Lizwi, Native Tribe, Lelloh, and Idd Aziz that add to the not-to-be-missed selection of Zakes Bantwini, West & Hill and Jackie Queens. Tracks of the album have already gained the acclaim of Keinemusik, Black Coffee, Eelke Kleijn and many more artists around the world.

Lush sounds, percussive trips, and hammering hits are all included in the selection of afro house gems that create an hour-long escapist mood, suitable for a much-needed dancefloor moment.

Voices of Liberation, the title track, features TroyMusiq, combines an uplifting melody with afro vocals, putting the listener in the mood for what is going to follow.

Lahloma consists of a hammering bassline, cinematic strings, African drums combined with melodic elements and is topped with the unique voice of Mnqobi Yazo. 

Next up, the collaboration with queen Toshi. Mabali has a dark almost techno-like vibe. The passionately sung lyrics complete the track and will surely do massive damage to every dance floor.

Thando Lwethu, is one more feature of Soul Star, this time with Muscardo, continuing the streak of Vuka.

Adding to the mix the up-and-coming producer Chaleee, Soulroots includes the ever-growing Lizwi to create Izinyanda, one more trippy excursion to the afro house world. 

Native Tribe contribute with their own unique sound, using Lelloh’s vocals to produce Choose You before the closing track of the album. Dogo Dogo, with none other than Idd Aziz is the final track of Voices of Liberation. 

10 tracks, 10 collaborations. It will definitely be a hard decision to find a favorite!

Love Again

London based artist Badbox, known for his Black Coffee and Blue Marlin residencies, joins South African based producer Vanco to marry their African influenced production styles in Sondela release 'Alive'. Afro tech flavours ooze out of this record with Bobbi Fallon's rasping vocal trickling over fierce percussion and deep beats, providing the track with enchanting soundscapes and absorbing you into an infinite, euphonious zone. 'Alive' makes for a compelling release, adding to Sondela's ever-growing catalogue of Afro excellence.

Ben Mah's interest for music production sparked in 2012. His musical style fuses the elements of deep, afro & tech house chants with a dash of soul and Jazz influence. A nomad by nature, follows his wide musical influence ranging from the 80’s pop music of Splash to the hip hop sounds of Talib Kweli. Listening to the likes of Soulpoizen, Culoe da Song and Da Capo defined his house music style.
He was crowed champion of the Wits-Soul Candi DJ competition in 2012. This saw him perform at events including the Wits Freshers Party and South Point Street Shows, sharing the stage with names as DJ Fresh, Christos and Black Motion. He has played at events and venues since across Free State, Gauteng and the North West province.
His debut release is titled Say My Name, published by Do you Be You Records in 2021. In 2024, he released another single Astral Voyage in the 7th Belief compilation, Do You Be You.
 
Music fascinates him as a language, an expression medium to connect and unite all living things. His time for music is spent appreciating & learning about the power and meaning of music. He creates music to capture and express his experience, imagination and aspirations. The purpose of his music is to connect, unite, and inspire. You are invited to listen to his expressions.
