"All 5 Elements" is a kava/kratom bar in Largo Florida featuring one of my favorite kava drinks in town (Tropi-kava) they also sell metaphysical wares! On Thursdays you can catch live DJs and Fire dancers. Yesterday they had their grand opening and I was lucky enough to play! 

It's been a bit since I did a Spooky Halloween Mix and I wanted to do it again. What better time to accomplish this than a grand opening Halloween weekend? 

The mix features the haunting and eerie feeling of psytrance with some flavors of tribal, hard and epic trance to keep things fresh.

Decoded Magazine Mix of the Month August Submission - Ninja Super Hero

I was fortunate enough to play a the opening set for Tampa Bay legend Brian Busto's "Serious Soul" event in August! This mix features a few tracks that I've been dying to play out for years (in some cases over 10 years), and some that are so rare that you cannot find them on the internet anymore. With this mix I wanted to demonstrate my ability to warmup the night with some vibey, groovey, hypnotic tunes. 

A big self imposed challenge I wanted to do was to remain under 120 BPM. Perhaps behind 128, 120 might be the 2nd most popular BPM in all dance music (source: "trust me bro vibes and statistics"). I wanted to dare myself to play beneath the 2nd most popular BPM in dance music for a sustained period of time. To add to that, I also wanted to imprint my own sort of "identity" to the mix, I did that with my lengthy, drawn-out transitions which are intricately phased and layered to ensure maximum gratification. And the overly meticulous curated track selection.

A lot of thought and love went into this journey, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. And a huge thank you to Richard Morykon and the headliner Hair Band Drop Out you guys were amazing!

Hi guys! If I haven't told you yet, this is the last "Eccentric" mix. 

Long ago when I started DJing I never really expected much from it. This was in late 00's/early 10's. I just wanted to have fun, and compare the music I made with professionally made and mastered tracks. 

It didn't go well. 

It didnt' stop me from mixing. In-fact I found DJing a lot easier than making actual music. While in nursing school I couldn't find the time to make music but I could still DJ. 

The name "Music for the Eccentric Mind" was a blatant ripoff of a friend's album that I liked named "Music for a  Nervous Night", and if Deep Eddie Zilker and his Progressive Breaks album was still on soundcloud, I would have linked it. 

Eccentric is unconventional, and quirky which I would've categorized my mixes back in the day. Nowadays, its still pretty quirky, but I don't jump around genres as much. 

I resumed DJing sometime after the pandemic and with it the name. But after my biggest year DJing, I think it's time to retire the series. It never really caught on, and I feel naming something "eccentric" may deter people from listening, it's also not related to my musician/DJ name. 

Ninja Super Hero is eccentric as it is, what do people not know about me yet? What do you want to know about me? What do I want you to know about me? All things I look forward to answering in 2026. 

I will come up with something new and exciting to name my mix series. But for now, please enjoy the 17+ volumes of music that is "Music for the Eccentric Mind"
