As a fan of French variété, I recently rediscovered the iconic 1970s track “Au Pays des Merveilles de Juliet” by Yves Simon, featured in the legendary film L’Amour Ouf. Inspired, I created my own edit—deep and groovy—to bring this classic to life in club settings.

Some tracks just hang around, waiting for their moment. Jumping Jack lived on Jo Paciello’s hard drive for ages, getting little tweaks here and there until it finally came alive as the follow-up to his much-loved Le Jazz. Once it clicked, the groove rolled out on its own.

Yonca Müzik, founded around 1968 by Ergin Bener, became a cornerstone of the Turkish psychedelic scene of the 1970s, blending oriental instruments with Western rock aesthetics.

Müjdat Akgün is a Turkish composer and producer active for several decades, known for his work within Istanbul’s vibrant music industry, including collaborations with the Yonca Müzik label.
