The Finnish electronic music pioneer and all-time favorite Jori Hulkkonen is at the helm for the new Kaiku Mix, arriving just in time for Christmas. This year Jori celebrated the 30th anniversary of his first vinyl release, his 50th birthday as well as the release of the wonderful new album There Is Light Hidden In These Shadows (featuring John Grant, Tiga, Art Feynman and The Beloved among others).

The Kaiku Mix is an honest look at the material that Hulkkonen currently plays at his DJ gigs: the main focus is on interesting new music with exclusive versions of his own tracks thrown in.

@eichldn has summoned the sounds of her formative Thursday nights spent at Norwich nightclub Hideout, drawing together bass, house and techno to create a modern take on the sonic landscape of the beloved 808 event series

"When I was thinking about this mix I thought about how locations have such a massive impact on the music that comes out from these places: it wouldn't be grime if it wasn't London, y'know? This mix is specifically about one location, and that's this club that I've been talking to you about in Norwich.

I've kind of curated it based on the fact that I'm playing to a younger version of myself that would have just started going out and raving in that club. It's what I would have heard in that club with a modern twist."

This week's mix is supplied by EG, a flourishing Parisian DJ, whose debut EP "Unexpected Journey" on Pont Neuf Records has her listed in the Top 10 emerging artists on DJ Mag. Her educated and tasteful House selections are opening more doors for her in 2024 as she becomes a resident for Antwerp-based party starters, Soulful Sessions. Brussels crew you can catch her on February 9th at FUSE and 29th March at our firm favourite, La Cabane.

One of my very first DJ mixes which I just found on an old minidisc. Recorded sometime in 2001, less than a year after I first learned how to DJ. At that time I had about 30-40 records in total, and learned them inside out. Some obvious bangers on here which I still love to this day.
