The Orrery

Every Friday, I walk home along the Kelvinway past the Kelvingrove park and art gallery. 
On these walks, no matter the season, whether a bright summers evening or a dark dreary winters night, the light that illuminates the trees is always breathtaking.
After one of these walks, basking in the evening light, I sat down at the piano and recorded this.
On a Friday at 8.26pm.

Here's an arrangement of the folk classic 'Wild Mountain Thyme'. Spending most of my time in Glasgow, it's nice to occasionally imagine frolicking around in the Scottish countryside... Or huffing and puffing up a Munro.

"Evening bells" comes from a improvisation I recorded while staying at my mum and dad's house in Dunblane. It reminds me of cathedral bells marking the arrival each new hour.

"Passing Places" is inspired by driving up the M80 towards the A9. This stretch of road is one I travel frequently to visit my family in Dunblane but also for work.

The views of Stirling Castle, the Ochil Hills and the Trossachs are a constant reminder of how beautiful Scotland is, and of how lucky I am to call this place home.
