Ben’s heartbeat pumps to the rhythm of nineties hip hop and RnB, it’s food for his soul and provides the inspiration to much of the music he produces. It was a golden era, pre-internet, yet still so immersed in technology. The roots of his sound are embedded in that special time and the energy of the nineties reverberates through his compositions. He describes it as a fire that burns inside him, the need to channel the vibrations of that era, with those genres at the forefront of his creative ambitions.

The infectious 'Let It Go' ft. Keshia is a real party starter thanks to the throwback chords which dance over the elastic house drums. Twisted synths, old-school cow bells and well-designed percussion all flesh out the hands-in-the-air groove while Keshia provides an impassioned vocal that is sure to make this one a summer festival favourite.

Canadian multi-instrumentalist, composer, vocalist and DJ Jex Opolis has proven to be a unique voice over the past decade. His labels Good Timin' and the club-focused Bad Timin' have been a constant presence in the record bags of some of the world's most beloved DJs and his sounds defy easy categorisation. His punchy remix is a turbocharged house cut that heads into space on cosmic arps and with sci-fi pads swirling around the soulful vocal.

Some of you might know the Hamburg-based producer as one half of Adana Twins. Still, since last year Ben Evers also began to set sails on a solo journey thus giving us »The Feeling«, a captivating and hypnotizing tune that's got all it takes to become a big one in any big (and small) room. Nicely built around a little vocal sample it sucks you deep into Ben's wonderful wide world of sound.
»Get To Me« is done similarly: Ben takes another fine vocal snippet and puts it on top of a fast percussive beat, adds some dreamy synths as the icing on the cake, and manages to create another peak time tune that'll set the roof on fire big time.

Premiere: Ben Evers - Acid Orchestra [Eternal Sunshine]

German house innovator Ben Evers is having a standout year. As well as launching this label with a well-received first single, he also dropped a fantastic EP on Live At Robert Johnson. After many years as one-half of the respected Adana Twins duo, Evers is now simultaneously exploring a solo chapter that sees him delving into fresh influences and inspirations having previously made waves on labels like Permanent Vacation and Correspondant. This fresh new release opens with 'Acid Orchestra' which has militant drums and snappy hi-hats dancing over thudding kicks while a supple 303 line ripples its way through the whole mix. There is a darkness to the bass which is heightened by some menacing spoken words to make this a peak time but classy house banger. Things stay just as high impact on the brilliant 'Breakout Riddim' where old school horns bring a '90s rave feel to slamming kicks. It's a full throttle sound with some rudeboy vocals adding extra fuel to this nostalgia-tinged classic. UK mainstay Man Power is a famously versatile artist who is able to lay down dark disco, thrilling techno, and plenty in between, all with oodles of individual style on his own Me Me Me as well as Freeride Millenium and Rekids. He comes fresh from the release of his debut BBC Radio 1 Essential mix. Here, he flips 'Acid Orchestra' into a lithe and elastic jam with more deft acid details, dramatic fills and ragged synth sequences that all ride on a surging techno groove. It's strobe-lit, heart-of-the-dance floor, hands-in-the-air perfection.
