This is Esmeralda at Gaytimes 2023, redux. The 90 minute set I would have played before Babylon fell and the gay set times were cut short.

Let me set the scene. It's Saturday night. Half past send it o'clock. You roll into Muriel's club space, hot and steaming. The room is so full people are climbing in the windows.

What follows is an assortment of big house bangers, tech house and silly rave tunes from the 90s-00s. And a couple of special favourites. Speed dealer sunnies are recommended at the 28 minute mark.

There's a lot of new territory for me here in terms of material, technique, the physical and emotional investment in the mix. And my first time playing at a festival. Whipping that room into a hot mess was really fun, would do again.

Italian artist Matisa today reveals details of Tongue, a new four-track EP for Peggy Gou’s Gudu label. The lead single, also titled ‘Tongue’, is out now.

Born in Rome but based in Florence, Matisa has become one of dance music’s most talked-about ascendant talents, releasing music on some of the most critically acclaimed labels on the circuit - including Optimo Music, Steel City Dance Discs, On Loop and Permanent Vacation - with DJs such as Ben UFO, Peach, Shanti Celeste, Eris Drew, Sally C, Mall Grab and more supporting her music.

With four tracks that range from sun-drenched piano house to mid-tempo breaks, with a narrative flow that rewards listening to it as a full EP rather than picking tracks, Tongue showcases Matisa’s full range as an artist - resulting in perhaps her most all-encompassing release yet; a true showcase of what makes her such a special talent.

Grown from a world of harmonies, the house he delivers is very teinted with soul ambiance, jazzy colors and funk to discoid influences. Instrumentalist before being Dj, he records live the wide majority of its own productions. 

It's been only one year that he appears onto the parisian scene and has already made its way down to the biggest venues such as Djoon, Garage or Wanderlust along with major DJs such as COEO, Folamour, Bellaire or Ethyene.
