October 2013 will see the reissue of 26-year old American composer Peter Broderick's 2008 debut album Float. Returning to his home in Oregon, where his musical journey began, Peter completes the circle with the release of Float 2013. Remastered by the gifted hands of Nils Frahm, Float 2013 will also include two additional bonus tracks with each album download and will be reissued on CD, vinyl, digital and even on a limited edition cassette via Erased Tapes. The album release will also be accompanied by Float 2013 Addendum, a 7” single featuring ‘Something Has Changed’ re-arranged as a duet for violin and viola, with the new title ‘Something Has Remained’.

Brought up in a musical household in Oregon, Peter quickly became a popular session musician for the likes of M. Ward in the Portland area. Later discovered by the Danish band Efterklang he joined their live band and spent the next six years based in Europe where he collaborated with many like-minded contemporaries. Through relentless touring, multiple album recordings and film scores Peter has established himself as a solo artist, known for his innate gift as a musical medium to picking up any instrument, turning his musings into poignant songs.

Having previously released ‘Ten Duets‘ on cassette tape, Peter is a big fan of this format and is excited to be taking part in Cassette Store Day on September 7th 2013. Float 2013 will be available in store in a hand numbered limited edition of purple cassettes in bespoke packaging. Mystica Tribe is the musical alias of Tokyo-based producer, Taka Noda. Drawing on a wide range of influences – from dub, soul, bass music, rhythm and blues – Mystica Tribe has quickly been developing a very distinctive sound that exists in a weird, freaked out zone between dub and techno. Noda is especially interested in deep, psychedelic music, and this is reflected in his productions, which are equally suited for late night listening sessions or bent, broken in dancefloors. His first track, “Meditation Stick”, was released in 2011 on Dutch label SD Records, backed by two remixes from label owners Syncom Data. This was followed by two more EPs on SD Records in 2013: “Stars are Mine” and “Flowers”. Artists like Gilles Peterson and 2562 have supported these well-received releases, and his track “His Temple” recently appeared on Pangaea’s Fabric Live 73 mix CD. In 2014, Noda is launching his own label, Mystica Tribe Records, through which he plans to continue developing his uniquely psychedelic take on dub and techno. His recent EP, “Lizard”, was released on his label in 2014. “Jade Eye” was released on his label in 2016.

絵画を描くように音楽を奏でる色彩豊かな作風で、ポスト・クラシカルというジャンルのなかでももっとも人気のあるピアニストのひとりであるダスティ ン・オハロラン。ソフィア・コッポラ監督の映画『マリー・アントワネット』のスコアで注目を集め、最近ではダコタ・ファニング主演の青春映画 『17歳のエンディングノート』(Now Is Good) など、数々の映画のスコアで引っ張りだこですが、本作は彼がスコアを手がけたハリウッド製作の新感覚インタラクティヴ・ソーシャル映画『The Beauty Inside』（2012年公開）のサウンドトラックです。

監督は新進気鋭のドレイク・ドレマスで、オハロランとは2011年のサンダンス映画祭グランプリ作品『今日、キミに会えたら』(Like Crazy) に続くコラボレーションです。さらにこのコンビは2013年のサンダンス映画祭出品作『Breathe In』の公開も控えています。

『The Beauty Inside』はFacebookでオーディションが行われ、オーディエンス自身が主人公を演じることができ、またFacebookのタイムライン上でス トーリーが展開されるという、ハリウッドで初となる新しい形のインタラクティヴ・ソーシャル映画。公開はYouTubeで行われ、先日、2013年のウェビー賞のドラマ部門を受賞しました。

このサウンドトラックでは、ピアノとストリングスに加え、シンセをうまく導入することで、メランコリアとぬくもりが同居するオハロラン本来の作風よりも明るく、すがすがしくも気品のあるサウンドが、毎朝目を覚ますたびに他人の容姿に変わってしまうという不思議な特徴を持った主人公の切ないラブストーリーに瑞々しさをもたらしています。

ミックスはエフタークラングなどの作品も手がける元ジャルディーニ・ディ・ミロのフランチェスコ・ドナデッロ。マスタリングはおなじみのニルス・フラームが担当。

In our second physical release on Tessellate Recordings, we present you with Felix Gebhard’s Gone For Walks in a limited edition run of just 100 copies. Felix Gebhard is a much travelled musician, song-writer and artist from Berlin in Germany. Since his late teens he has been playing guitar and writing music. For many years he performed as part of the now disbanded Home Of The Lame who embarked on their final tour together in 2012. Since then, Felix has been concentrating on his solo material which departs from the 3-4 minute pop songs that Home Of The Lame became renowned for, making steps towards the experimental Ambient field. Felix’s first release under his own name came out last year on our sister label Audio Gourmet, followed by a vinyl release on his own Lametunes imprint called Wise Words For Elmore Bubbles. For the latter, he embarked on a small tour playing guitar live through a series of effects pedals.

Over the years Felix has primarily lived in cities, such as Hamburg, Bremen, Malmo and Stockholm. Gone For Walks is a result of time spent away from the city during trips to his mother’s house in a village in Wendland. It is a rural region by the Elbe River which sits on the former East and West Germany border. The four tracks that comprise this album are the result of pictures and sounds he collected whilst on several walks in the area. The field recordings are joined by improvised layers of instrumentation including an acoustic guitar, electric baritone guitar, electric piano, organ, synthesisers, kalimba, bowed vibes, ukulele and various percussion instruments.
Felix strived to visualise the landscape and region by focusing on small sonic and visual details along the way. There was never the intention to stereotype an urbanite’s view on agriculture and country living but somehow the record finds itself being just that. 

The tracks are named after the times that certain field recordings were captured and on the physical release, these are mapped and marked with an ‘X’ on the back of a postcard containing an image from the walks. Inside a sealed and stickered envelope, you’ll find a set of four postcards (one for each track) along with a copy of the limited edition CDr. There is also a digital version available which includes bonus items.
