Reprezent Radio DJ & producer, RALPH, returns with his latest single 'Sometimes it's Best We  Don't', an uplifting, ethereal piece of electronica, written during the early stages of life during 
a pandemic and capturing the ambiguities of an unpredictable future. It charts loss and time,  and forms the first single to his upcoming TIME EP. Following on from his remix of 'The  Abandonment of...Ego!' by The Irrepressibles, RALPH adds sombre and pensive notes to his 
otherwise heavier discography.

‘For me, the record really points to the forced sense of immobility caused by the pandemic — this period was initially pretty creative for me. But it’s poignant, obviously it was a terrible  time for the amount of lives lost, I myself was touched by this…   It also sheds light on identities that were marred and the livelihood’s that were altered 
inextricably. As a producer and performer, contrastingly it was a harsh time; the lack of live  music and social interaction was incredibly di"icult for me. ‘Sometimes it’s Best We Don’t’ encompasses the nuances that were a part of 2020, the darker periods ever-present but  crucially settling on the idea that light would be at the end of the tunnel.’

The Procyon II team are very proud to bring you PRCN001: 'Wave Artifice' - Naarm local AJ Walker's second EP and the maiden release for the Procyon II label. Releasing May 5th 2023. 

AJ returns with bag of sonic goodies to take you a journey through the galaxy and back. With a propensity for driving low-end grooves, snappy percussion and laser-like acid-licks leaving no surprises, this release has seen him venture down new avenues of sound design creating nebulous pad sections and synth harmonies to lose yourself in on a dusty dance-floor in the bush.

3 recent cuts, 'Wave Artifice', 'Polybius' and 'Astra-Technique' showcase the last 6-months or so of AJ's trip into the esoteric and aims to capture that otherworldly feeling you might get while staring into the liminality of space on a clear night.
'Blue Shell Boogie', written in 2021 is an ode to everyones favourite N64 classic. Sitting dormant on a backup disc since and finally finding a home on the Procyon II imprint.

It's house, it's trance, it's a bit prog and it's Mario Kart 64 - it's Wave Artifice.
