Vitodito & Silence Groove - Choices (EDU Remix) (ABGT Cut)

When Proton Music's friends at Dear Deer contacted us about an exciting new project, collaboration between Anton Ishutin and Leusin provided a high quality "Presence", further extended by remixes from the talented artist roster from both stables.

Anton Ishutin has risen rapidly in deep house and indie dance circles. A polished sound has seen work feature heavily on the Dear Deer imprint since 2013's pairing with Anturage produced the "Drunk Girl" EP. Since then, a clutch of other releases and remixes have surfaced while further work for Pepper Cat, Four Peas and Nuevadeep have cemented a reputation built upon support from the likes of M.A.N.D.Y., Kolombo and Dinka. Joining forces, on this occasion, with the vocal talents of Leusin, "Presence" is a sublime journey through striking percussive beats and haunting vocals that carry a blend of textured pads, emotive melodies and strong bass line to mesmerising effect. With an effortless use of space, "Presence" and its accompanying dub are works of class.

Tim Embliss needs no introduction to the Proton Music faithful. A connoisseur of the electronic music scene since 2007's debut and an important figure in the progressive breaks sound so prevalent in the mid 2000s, Embliss' sound has matured and evolved in recent years to become extremely well respected and supported by labels and peers alike. Armada, Anjunadeep and Silk Royal have all played host to Embliss' considerable talents as his work has seen support form Jaytech, Matt Darey and fellow countryman, Eelke Kleijn. A regular on Proton Music since 2008, it was 2013's "Stronghold" EP that marked a watershed moment in Embliss' recent production career with a shift to a deeper, much sought after sound. Extending his skill set into the deep house arena, the Embliss remixes of "Presence" demonstrate an individual with passion and talent as a huge bass line provides a strong anchor for subtle percussive hats and striking reverb-soaked lead to play off the vocal arrangement of the original. A sure and classy touch from Embliss has provided "Presence" with a gold standard rework.

Russian star, Andrea Kinly has formerly shone behind the scenes with AandR for Tvardovsky owned, Stereo Paradise. Currently head of Maywin, Kinly's own incipient production career began with 2013's "Internal Confusion" EP with AudioAndrew for Deadfunk Music. Going on to represent Funkpony and Stop!Waiting, Kinly now follows up a further collaboration with AudioAndrew for 2014's "Dear Deer Friends, Vol. 2" compilation as "Dreams" were realised. Taking on "Presence", the Kinly remix retains Leusin's haunting vocals and the enveloping sounds of the original, backed by a muted kick drum that expands to include metronomic house beats as the track evolves. Additional production material forces its way to the fore in incongruous juxtaposition as arpeggio and harmonica effect provide a powerful edge. The stripped back dub version then makes its play with a series of textures and effects in organic fashion.

Six tracks of perfect symmetry combining the remix talents of Embliss and Kinly have provided Anton Ishutin and Leuisn with a strong "Presence" from which success is assured.

Talented Helsinki producer Yotto aka Otto Yliperttula is the latest signing to the Anjunadeep roster, debuting with a heavy-hitting two tracker “Memento / Azzurro”. 

First heard in James Grant’s Anjunadeep Edition 50 mix “Memento” is a huge dancefloor weapon, echoing the bass-driven sounds of Jonas Rathsman and Dusky. Rolling low-end stabs surge through murky, atmospheric melodies leading to an epic breakdown.

“Azzurro” is another bass heavy roller, built around a growling groove that gives way to a nostalgic piano line and soaring pads, rising to a dramatic crescendo before dropping back into darkness.

Rising Anjunadeep star Lane 8 announced the release of his debut album in style recently, with the brilliant new single ‘Ghost feat. Patrick Baker’. On remix duties are a diverse trio of talented producers; techno innovator Audion, Aus Music prodigy Bwana and blogger's favourite Luvian.

After collaborating with Lane 8 on a track on the upcoming album, Matthew Dear took to his notorious Audion guise to remix ‘Ghost’, following remixes for legendary acts like Leftfield, Four Tet, Dubfire and Seth Troxler. Completely twisting the mood of the original, cutting the vocal over a frenetic groove he delivers a gnarly late-night techno cut.

Bwana has marked himself out as one to watch with his excellent EPs on Will Saul’s Aus Music, and his epic take on ‘Ghost’ is another winner, playing off the subtle melodies of the original with a huge bass hook, and Patrick Baker’s evocative lyrics.

UK based Luvian has been bubbling away for a while, with his early tracks picking up millions of plays on YouTube and Soundcloud. He takes his remix away from the club, instead opting for a gorgeous poolside version, stripping back almost entirely to sparse percussion, sensual melodic textures and warped vocals.

An artist whose sound has come to define our parent label, Japanese phenom Shingo Nakamura, alongside label manager Max Flyant, present two wonderful deep-progressive cuts, extracted from their forthcoming Only Silk 03 compilation. The tracks featured here showcase the deeper side of the compilation, presented by Max Flyant in the first of two mixes.

This sampler kicks off with Matt Rowan's "Resolution", a melodic and groovy cut, featuring crystalline synths and a lovely juxtaposition of soothing and stormy bass elements. Rowan is a special addition to our artist roster: his production work over the past decade has made an enormous impact on Silk's management team, and he remains a veritable luminary of intelligent progressive house. We're incredibly honored to feature this lush, atmospheric gem on this year's compilation.

Cloudive, better known as Russian veteran Aleksey Yakovlev, offers yet another memorable composition with his lovely new remix of Lian July & Eli's "Surrender". A deep groove makes way for a hypnotic lead chord progression, which is accompanied by a variety of melodic flourishes, not the least of which is Eli's remarkable vocal. The lighter tempo on this version gives the vocal extra room to breathe, and the arrangement is both patient and elegant.

An artist whose sound has come to define our parent label, Japanese phenom Shingo Nakamura, alongside label manager Max Flyant, present two wonderful uptempo progressive cuts, extracted from their forthcoming Only Silk 03 compilation. The tracks featured here showcase the more club-oriented sound in this year's compilation, presented by Shingo Nakamura in the second of two mixes.

The release kicks off with "Cruising Altitude" by Jayeson Andel (Canada) and Skyknock (India). Contributing greatly to Silk Royal, as well as our Arrival division, in recent years, Andel has proven himself to be one of the most promising talents of his generation, as both a multifaceted producer and DJ. You can now hear his incomparable mega-mixes each month on Silk Royal Showcase, as he recently became a monthly resident of the show. Meanwhile, Skyknock is quickly amassing an impressive discography in his own right, including the excellent "Blueberry" from last summer. Their latest collaboration centers on a bouncy groove and uplifting, "floating-on-air" soundscape. Gorgeous pad and synth layers evoke a state of euphoria in the listener, and the main theme featured in the breakdown proves to be powerfully emotive and truly unforgettable.

Mizar B (Poland) is another familiar face; like Andel, he contributed (brilliantly) to last year's Silk Royal Showcase 04 and is a rising talent of the new school of trance & progressive. A title that also suggests an atmospheric (if not space-themed) journey, "Magellanic Clouds" like its release partner is a soaring progressive anthem. A stormy bassline sets the track off on an uptempo and exhilarating foot in the early going; a variety of melodic layers soon follow, including a flurry of gorgeous arpeggios. As to be expected from a Mizar B production, the breakdown cuts deep: an exotic, mesmerizing soundscape is complemented by a beautiful piano solo.

Jayeson Andel & Skyknock - Cruising Altitude [Silk Royal]

Sometimes you have those additions to a label that keeps coming back over and over again, and one of our best mates of the label and someone that we want to push as much as we can is the Poland based producer Bee Hunter. Today he comes back with another 2 originals on PHW that we are as happy as ever to bring on to our home from this always friendly producer.

“In You Eyes” as the opening track is labelled as is another gorgeous melodic production from this great producer. It has that lovely pumping feel, with a slight retro progressive feel that we used to see a lot back in the good old days, and we are so happy  to see him continue to express his music in this fabulous style, dreamy and melodic with that energetic feel.

On remix duty for this masterpiece we first see the talented producer from Mexico John Manz taking charge and add his flavour to the release with an upbeat and dreamy progressive trance production. It’s all about harmonies, energy and added on textures and melodies that we absolutely love from start to finish, it’s gorgeous.

The 2nd re-take on “In Your Eyes” comes from none other than the brilliant talent from Japan, Ryo Nakamura who once again returns to the home of PHW for one more of his freaking awesome remixes. With his fantastic ability to build melodic hooks, he once more proves why he is one of the fastest rising talents in our genre. With added on vocal snippets, even more melodies and a quirky feel built up, this for sure is a well selected addition to the release to add variety and textures and we couldn’t be happier than what we are to be honest. 

To spice things up even more, we see another original take part on the release, this one baptized as “Flight To Dublin”. This one is a bit more stripped down, filled with more groove, though with lovely progressions in the track that keep evolving throughout the track. It is as sweet as ever!

On remix duty we see another addition on the label from one of the most promising names hailing from Norway, Proglifter. With work being included on our label several times, and on Enhanced as well, he definitely is right up there and builds another exciting rework to our roster. Here he’s been creative and reworked the melodic arrangements with new sounds and textures to make it a dreamy journey not to be missed out on.
The rework on this original come from the French producer Meranda who make yet another appearance on PHW. He do what he so often do and keep it tight with smooth melodic textures and a warm atmosphere built with his interpretation. He is definitely one to watch and we promise he is one that you will see more from in the future.

It is our great joy to present Shingo Nakamura & Max Flyant's "Only Silk 03", the third edition in the annual compilation series, inspired by the acclaimed Frisky Radio show of the same name. A two-part compilation of 26 progressive house, trance, deep house and chillout cuts, written by a variety of celebrated international artists, "Only Silk 03" showcases the "classic" progressive style of Silk Digital on Shingo Nakamura's mix, as well as the signature deep house vibe of affiliate division Silk Textures on Max Flyant's opening mix. Silk Digital and Silk Textures label manager, as well as "Only Silk" radio show co-host, Max Flyant is thrilled to join Shingo as co-presenter of this year's compilation for the first time.

Japanese sensation Shingo Nakamura is one of progressive's most beloved talents and has contributed more tracks to Silk in our label's history than any other artist. With several artists albums, countless top-charting singles, and international DJ events to his name, not to mention consistent radio support by many of the world's leading house, progressive, and trance DJ's over the last few years, Shingo continues to find inspiration as an artist, never failing to captivate audiences with his exceedingly emotive and visionary compositions. Leading, as usual, by example, Shingo features a brand new track of his own on Only Silk 03, "Tribute, Chapter II", as well as a previously unreleased remix by SineRider of one of his most famous compositions, "Hakodate". Inspiring new productions by label veterans LTN, Kobana, Embliss, Dezza, Sound Quelle, Jayeson Andel, RNX, Lessov, Clameres, Cloudive, Mizar B, Anthony Mea, Pavel Denisov and Brezza & JP DJ also grace this year's edition, as well as the debut Silk contributions by renowned talents Matt Rowan, Universal Solution, Jallen, and more.
