Dresden-based DJ and producer @AcidAdams collects four acid monsters, both from the glorious nineties and from a multi-layered present. The result is a record that dives deep into acid wonderland and bridges the gap between scene’s veterans and the new generation.

After Acid Adams discovered two forgotten acid tracks from the early nineties while digging for new music, the plan for this compilation slowly matured. While it was meant to be a tribute to every bird’s favorite genre, it shouldn’t be just a showcase for older tracks. Therefore, two new tracks were added to join the tracks by Nihilist and ADSX which have never been released on vinyl before. Each of the new productions is inspired by one of the older tracks, not in the sense of a remix or edit, but as a kind of homage to that particular squawking analog sound we all know and love. The energy and pace of these four unique tracks reaches from ambient to dance floor focused bangers.

According to the circumstances of scene and society at that time, the two older tracks were produced by (cis)men. That’s why, it was especially important to Acid Adams that the new tracks were produced by flinta* artists: softcoresoft is a DJ and producer from Canada, who has already released on Lobster Theremin. With Ida Bux, a native of Bautzen who now lives and works in Berlin, we connect the dots to a younger generation that is getting back into analog production setups. Both artists have in common that they have dealt extensively with the oldschool sound of the 90s in shaping their own sounds.

To round off the release properly, Saxony based illustrator frieedland has designed a matching sticker in the typical 90s style. And for those who can't get enough of acid: There's a digital bonus track by ADSX.

DJ duo Studio Batsumi (aka Federico Bigonzetti & Marta Paccagnella) reveal details for the first release of their self-titled joint label venture with five-track EP Cosmicomics. The first musical outing from the pair’s new imprint, Studio Batsumi are set to release their original records via the label, as well as offering a platform for burgeoning artists to release their music. With a focus on analogue, for the first few months all releases will be vinyl only (exclusively via Bandcamp). Making the natural step up from selectors and musicians to bona fide label bosses, founding the label marks a new beginning for the pair.

Known for their genre-defying DJ sets, regularly appearing at London’s most reputable listening bars such as Spiritland, Brilliant Corners and Supermax, as well as club previous shows at The Ton of Brix, The Jago, Cafe 1001 and The Waiting Room, the Studio Batsumi imprint plans to follow suit, genre-fluid while sonically defined, much like the pair’s DJ offering.

With the launch EP Cosmicomics written and produced by Federico alongside Parisian guitarist, producer and sound engineer Maxime Obadia, the varying musical backgrounds of the two artists demonstrates this versatile aesthetic for the label expertly, with Fede rooted in electronic and Maxime’s rock background working in harmony on the EP. Combining live instruments with drum machines, synths and a host of genre influences. Artists such as such The Pilotwings, GHF, Kalbata, YuSu, and L’Éclair have been cited as influences on the first EP.

Featuring three original tracks, a remix from esteemed Turkish DJ and producer Jonny Rock and one of Federico’s own versions on B2, the tracks range from bassline-driven downtempo chuggers, dreamy guitar riffs, trippy arpeggios and distorted, wonky pads for a rich and eclectic sound palette to work on and off the dancefloor. Texturised layers of live instrumentation and analogue equipment further enhance the organic and unique quality of Studio Batsumi sound.

With an artist-first approach, Studio Batsumi releases will be on a limited 300-press run, sold exclusively via Bandcamp. To celebrate the launch of the label, on Saturday 13 April the duo will host an in store at Hidden Sounds in Dalston, with the party carrying on at Brilliant Corners where the pair will play a special all-night-long set.

Pumped-up and ready for the dancefloor, Elninodiablo turns in a flavourful and playful joint as his debut release for NEIN Records. Injecting further exhilarating levels of joy and bounce into his blends, the Berlin- based producer treats us to a smörgåsbord of club-optimized groovers in 'Infinitely Venus'.

A quartet of feelgood chuggers designed to contrast with the bleak state of the world as we experience it, 'Infinitely Venus' draws deep into the late 70s / early 80s period with its fun-loving mix of VHS glitch, space disco-ey vocoder, en-vogue trap rhythms and cleverly collaged film samples. Coming off unfiltered and unbothered by the limitative genre segmentation, this ufologic new package from Elninodiablo takes all the good, joyful stuff and bends it into a wholly new effusive object, freed from normative standards and boring etiquette.

All newbeat drums and frantic cowbells blazing, 'Infinitely Venus' conjures up the finest of The Asphodells' spaced-out mindset and that propulsive EBM thrust to have you lifted off to tropospheric heights in a flash. A flickering tapestry of mutant textures and envelopes floating in zero-G motion as bass arpeggios lead the charge, here's one hybrid roller for the transitional hours of the day, when night fades into day and day fades into night.

Churning out a further shape-shifting grid of drum-laden punch, rhythmic intricacies and overly erotic breath, 'Gone Gollywood' is just as soulful as it is outrageously fun and sexy. Here, Elninodiablo's 360 vision flourishes in all its unhindered exuberance and restless oomph. Draped in layers of Kraftwerk-esque vocoded talk, processed seesaw and sticky analogue squelch, 'Acid Girl' feels like a lucid dream turned robotic floor anthem, and it shall not only get droids to boogie down. Back to a further cosmic jazz-minded buildup and Weatherallian headspace, 'Jellyfish Albino' puts on the afterburners and flies us off to distant, uncharted musical lands, where Afrofunk-informed percussions, bleached-out motorik and viscous Cali-funk synth vibrations reign supreme and topped off with an electro twist.

Fractal Void is an avant-garde duo based in Düsseldorf, Germany. Their experimental music blends electronic and contemporary genres located somewhere in the field of musical tension between ambient, drone, halfstep and floor-affine IDM. During their live sets, Fractal Void create vertical reflections by processing sounds through software and interaction with real instruments in every unique musical performance like the Chinese contemporary calligraphic practice Dishu.

Their debut album Elemental Collection unveils a dense and lavishly layered transformation of artificial organic signals, sculpting an auditory world filled with emotive landscapes, overgrown polyrhythms and futuristic elements. Embedded within each track are field recordings serving as the heartbeat of the album. Through innovative and expansive deconstruction, Fractal Void create an energetic and sometimes contemplative experience.

The persons behind Fractal Void:
Back in 2008, their musical journey began with winning a Spectrasonics competition using field recordings of a locker door, that was implemented as a bass synth. Their collaboration was continued as producers of the eight-piece electronic jazz project „Mothers of Guru“.

Marcus Scheltinga is a composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist. Besides studying jazz trombone at the Conservatorium Hilversum and the Folkwanghochschule, he works as a musical director, lecturer and coach in 39 countries around the world. From ZDF sound design to live and studio performances with international greats, his own productions have included such as Grammy winner Larry Carlton and Peter Erskine. Mid-east and Indian inspired, Marcus is a true story teller as a musician and composer.

BORGBORG is a producer and DJ. She moves freely in different styles of electronic music with a focus on avant-garde driving techno, dark hypnotic vibes seamlessly blended with deconstructed beats, noise and timeless elements of IDM. She is a member of About Repetition, a group of artists dedicated to the research of repetition through artistic means, collaborating with a wide range of other collectives across Europe and co-founder of the techno event series „SCHLEIFEN“.

Nandele is one of the most innovative beatmakers, producers and DJs coming from Mozambique. He is at the forefront of the alternative and experimental music scene with his mix of bass heavy boombap instrumentals, ambient, techno, ebm, dubstep, trap, psychedelic hip-hop beats and the makonde rhythms of Northern Mozambique. 

The son of the first black director of the Mozambican National Radio after the country's independence, this is where he gets his musical background listening in his early age to a vast musical catalogue raging from Michael Jackson to Fela Kuti, from Kanda Bongo Man to Santana and Marvin Gaye, which he incorporates it in his beat making.

A prolific producer and writer, Nandele has written music for contemporary dance performances, films and has a number of band projects including: Cantinho das Cores, The Mute Band (who won best new band at the Mozambican Music Awards in 2016) and Azagaia & Os Cortadores da Lenha. He has collaborated with artists such as Felix Laband (RSA), Dion Monti (CHF), Symbiz (DEU) and Boogz Brown (REU), African Ghost Valley(CAN).

He has graced stages at some of the biggest festivals in Southern Africa: Afropunk Johannesburg, MTN Bushfire Festival in Swaziland, Azgo Festival in Mozambique, Berlin Atonal, Kayamba Festival, Electropicales... His first E.P. Argolas Deliciosas and his first full-length album Likumbi was released through Mozambican independent label Kongoloti Records, he has released Eps/cassettes through label Inserttapes in Sweden (Blu Kidz), Already Dead Tapes and Records in Los Angeles (Plafonddeinst) and Cotch International in London (FF).

Nandele is also a member and founder of an audio-visual group Muave he is part of the Miss collective that recently released a multi-disciplinary performance called Degradação (Re)Generativa, he is part of international collective called Proximal Distal who had recently a residency and will release a publication and a vinyl.

Nandele has remixed tracks for Dubokaj meets Lee Scratch Perry project and Mothers of Mars, and as a producer for Tresor 30 compilation along with techno pioneers (Jeff Mills, Dj Stingray), established and upcoming artitsts around the world and he is part of artist roaster of Tresor Records as well. He has produced a jingle wich was a collaboration with ASAAS Collective from Palestine for Radio Alhara, where he is constantly collaborating and his live performances and mixes are broadcasted. He has produced for the Original Soundtrack for the comic book informais created by Anima Studio Criativo.

Love is the answer, but what was the question?
Love is the most powerful force in the universe and we are all, in one way or another motivated by love. But this particular sentiment that is often portrayed as easy and pure, something that comes natural to us, can feel quite different in reality. What we think is supposed to be effortless, often has more complexity to it than we had hoped for: you could sum it up as "The Love Dilemma" – which is also the title of the second album by Benjamin Fröhlich.

Five years after his acclaimed debut album "Amiata", the producer, DJ and co-founder of Permanent Vacation returns with the concept album "The Love Dilemma", which explores the multi-layered matter of love. To be more precise, it is about any sort of relationship between humans, where love is involved. The album follows the structure of how a relationship can unfold: It starts off a bit misty and hazy and crawls up to some h(o)rmony and big endorphin highs. Over time the feeling intensifies with heat and sparks, before an inevitable friction and phase of questioning. Here, the tone switches and a clear cut marks a turning point. If the relationship continues, a new direction is taking over and stirs the boat into calmer, but not less intense waters, where it finally sails to unknown shores.

As the soundtrack for these different stages of a relationship, Benjamin chooses a mixture of 90's inspired Balearic, House, Ambient and Garage. You can find a lot of prominent basslines, pianos, vocal chops and percussions.

"Normally I know that high expectations kill the vibe, so I always try to walk my way open minded and don’t expect anything special from the future, but this time I couldn’t help it. When the Robot told me that she wanted me to play the sunrise set and that we will be connected with the Mayan Warrior soundsystem, I could feel it already in Berlin a full three weeks before… Then when I finally took the bus over to Robot Heart it was even better than in my craziest expectations. This gig was by far the most emotional gig I have ever played. All I can say is thank you, I am even more happy now to be born on this weird planet which can be really beautiful sometimes, when you give it  chance to be free. Thank you you for dancing with me and giving me so much Love. So here is my try to give something back.

The human body is the most highly engineered object in existence, a machine of uncountable parts and unfathomable function. Its workings have served as inspiration for all of humanity's greatest inventions. This work is an homage to the two most amazing mechanisms in that machine: the human eye and hand. The head is a 16 foot camera obscura demonstrating the ray optics principals underlying the spherical lensed eye humans posses and the hands are actuated mimicking the tendons and bones of the body. Together they represent what separates life from the rest of the universe, the ability to observe the world around us and manifest change in that world.
