I trusted her, and took the trek down south….to Desert Hearts.  I knew only her, and left with a new family. It's heeeeere :))

As volume 3 was more for the poolside and sunshine....this, Volume 4 is aimed at the afterhours, that 4 am time where your body's craving the darker and sexier side of things....my favorite part of the night.  I'm no doubt a night owl, and although this has primarily been put together during the wee a.m hours, it's also meant to keep you moving, your feet hopping, your booties dropping.  In your headphones around the city, on the stereo at home, or on the office radio at work.....as long as it's loud ;)

As always, this is recorded live, in one take, on two pioneer 800 cdj's and an old beat up 400 mixer.  I love the sound of imperfection, and to me, little bits and pieces of it remind me the dj's actually doing what you're hearing.

The day was hot as balls, we had just battled a wind storm that took out our camp, our fits are fly, and there's a cold beer in hand. The time is 5:30pm and the feeling's fine....The Junkyard is a go. What came next was a whole hoot of  friends, smiling faces, my cowboy hat blowing off, and a banana in my pocket someone snuck in. Lightning In A Bottle is special, and as always, I was real real honored to take the stage <3

2015 was a big one for me - emotionally, physically, mentally, spiritually.  It was one year I'm certainly sad to see go, but all the more eager, and truly excited to turn around, drop my pants, and moon it goodbye.  I left my 20's and dove head first in to 30's, fell head over heels in love, played a few of my best and sure to be most memorable sets yet, started my dream job, took You're Welcome in to realms I never thought possible, made countless new friends, and met endless smiling faces, worked my ass off, harder and longer than I ever have in my life....and loved every single damn second of it.  

I've said it before, and it rang true once again this year, when the clock struck midnight, and the year turned to '16....just how damn lucky I am.  This mix is an ode to just that.  This is meant to be an outlook on the hardships in life next to the overwhelming positives, and yet still ring true to the sound I strive for....sexy, warm, heartfelt groove, that's built for you and him, or her and you.  It's to be played loud, with your arm around the one you love, if even just for the night ;)  It's a deeper look in to what has been influencing me as of late and throughout the year, the direction in which my sound has gone and certainly what you can expect to see from me out and about and on-stage.

Benjamin K ~ You're Welcome V.5 (Jan'16)

It seems like ages ago I hopped in the car with some new friends, headed to southern California and went to a small festival people told me "I'd absolutely love!"  We ran out of gas that weekend, got stuck driving up a gravel hill, got snowed on, wore every single article of clothing I brought, froze, overheated, and loved every second of it.  That was my first Desert Hearts, 2 and a half years ago, and I haven't stopped going since.  That place is for me, and many others that go, our utopia; so as you can image, I was beyond thrilled and truly honored to have been asked to open up their 2016 spring festival.  It was a beautiful afternoon, with all friends and loved ones floating around that dusty dance floor.  This it, the recording of those two hours in time, from noon to 2pm Friday afternoon April 1st at Desert Hearts.  Enjoy <3

Desert Hearts '16

There are few names that have inspired me musically the way James Zabiela has.  The first time I saw him, way back in '03ish, was opening for Sasha in a transformed church in Denver, and I really don't think I've ever been the same since.  The man is a beast...he's responsible for countless steps ahead in the world of the Pioneer cdj, mixing genres, scratching, manual looping, and live beat manipulation in a world where any of that is seldom seen.  To say I'm a fan, would be a massive understatement.  So as you can imagine, to have been asked to open up for him when he was in town in February, was nothing short of a dream.  I almost wasn't going to release this set, as there are a few parts within that aren't perfect, but in many ways those imperfections are all part of the experience, and what make it so special.  So, here it is, my two hour opening set for a personal hero of mine, mr. James Zabiela.

Let me fill you up with an hour of Holiday spirit, recorded live at Monarch on 12/9/17.  Yes I may or may not have cleared the dance floor almost immediately with this. Still flying high from just how special this day was.  At 11am on New Years day I took to the outside main stage for It's A New Day at The Great Northern SF.  Over 5,000 people showed up through the day, and I don't think I could have smiled any wider (don't let this photo fool you, I'm really not that cool).  Could there have been a better way to start the New Year?  For all that showed up, I luh ya'll.  Thanks for dancing with me <3
