After over four years since their first appearance on our channel, the marvelous SIT duo returns with a 90 minutes sound immersion recorded at Grădina Monteoru a few weeks ago to give us a glimpse of what to expect during Week 2 of the incoming Caprices Festival.

Constantly evolving throughout the years, their work in pairs and as solo acts has now reached the ears and feet of thousands of dancers all around the world, making SIT one of the most acclaimed acts around. Characterized by a minimal-oriented background, Cristi Cons and Vlad Caia have continued nonstop to explore the sound boundaries, now smoothly surfing on more fast and skipping grooves as well as mighty housier themes.

Make sure to not miss them at the infamous Caprices Festival located in the beautiful Swiss alps, in a frame that will make their set even more memorable.

Cristi Cons’s affair with music began in his childhood, when he started playing the cello. He did it for more than 18 years, graduating the National Music Academy in Bucharest last year. 
He started djing about 6 years ago and since he has developed a very special and unique sound. His mixing skills and talent pushed him in the booth of the best clubs in Europe and along today’s top dj’s.
Electronic music production has been his number one interest in the last years whether he was doing it alone or with Vlad Caia under the SIT (Sideways Invisibility Theory) monicker, a project born in 2009. Together with Vlad Caia he is running the AMPHIA label, unique in all its forms, composition, artwork and quality. 
As a cello player he is also involved in Petre Inspirescu’s π Ensemble project. 
At the moment he's preparing the 5th release on AMPHIA which will bring together Cristi Cons, Vlad Caia and Raresh into a unique musical story.

Chegamos em 2023 e hoje começamos o ano dando um kickoff, daqueles inesquecíveis. Nosso convidado hoje, é um cara de puro coração, que nos entregou majestosamente uma experiência memorável no dia 06 de Janeiro no Surreal.

A música eletrônica passou a interessá-lo aos vinte e poucos anos, desde criança estudou violoncelo e viveu cercado por música clássica. Quando chegou a Bucareste, foi apresentado a um novo gênero musical que não só lhe chamou a atenção, como se tornou um território exploratório onde mais tarde desenvolveria uma sonoridade muito profunda e especial. De DJ à produção musical, muitas vezes ao lado do seu colega Vlad Caia, sob o pseudônimo SIT (Sideways Invisibility Theory), o artista sempre se desafiou a ser mais produtivo, mais criativo e a sair dos padrões habituais que outros músicos se sentem tentados a adotar. 

Através do trabalho árduo e da paixão constante por criar mais, tornou-se um dos fundadores da Amphia, além de passagens por labels como uma gravadora que explora a viagem musical e visual e, no entanto, continua a surpreender multidões na Europa em sets cheios de notável sofisticação. Ainda em sua discografia releases pelas legendárias [a.rpia.r], Sushitec, Meander e Serialism Records.

We arrived in 2023 and today we kickoff our podcast series, with an unforgettable one. Our guest today is a guy with a pure heart, who majestically delivered us a memorable experience on January 6th at Surreal.

Electronic music became of interest to Cristi Cons In his early twenties, as before then, ever since he was a child, he has been studying the cello and was constantly surrounded by classical music. When arrived in Bucharest, Cristi was introduced to a new music genre that not only had caught his attention, but it became an exploratory territory where he would later on develop a very deep and special sounds. From mixing to music production, most often alongside his fellow Vlad Caia, under the SIT alias, the artist has always challenged himself to be more productive, more creative and look outside the usual patterns that other musicians are tempted to adopt. Through hard work and constant passion for creating more, he became one of the founders of AMPHIA, a label that explores both the musical and visual journey, and nonetheless, he continues to amaze crowds in Europe and across its borders with sets full of emotion. His discography also include releases at the legendaries [a.rpia.r], Sushitec, Meander and Serialism Records.

Planetary Notions with Joe Rolét on Rinse FM

In a time of economic collapse and political unrest, on 4 August, a massive explosion hit Beirut. A large part of the city became rubble and many lives were lost. Repairs of damage and response to tremendous needs on the ground continue to be overwhelming and insufficiently funded. While priority is given to immediate relief and reconstruction, those most vulnerable such as pregnant and lactating women, children, elderly, people with disabilities, etc have special needs which require dedicated attention. Essential work carried out by local NGOs that requires less investment and provides long term impact for those most excluded and vulnerable, remains underfunded and with winter here, the situation is of growing concern. 

Resources gathered will be distributed to local NGOs prioritising people most in need with a high potential of exclusion and discrimination. The projects chosen with support from Impact Lebanon, will aim at providing essential relief, restoring livelihoods and increasing the capacity of small businesses.
