We’re not sure what they’re putting in the water over in Israel at the minute but it seems the middle eastern nation appears to be enjoying a wave of great electronic music at the moment from a new generation of talent from the country. From big names like Guy Gerber and Shlomi Aber to up and comers like Dor Levi and Omer Grinker it appears the state of Israel is one to watch for fresh new dance music. One of the latest act to emerge from the region is Tel Aviv duo Deep'a & Biri first came to our attention when making their full studio debut on DJ Hell’s International DeeJay Gigolo Records. Entitled ‘Emotions Visions Changes’ really impressed us at Data Transmission and firmly marked them out as ones to watch when it arrived last September.

With a smattering of EP’s and an album already to the name and praise ringing in their ears from champions such as Derrick May and DJ Hell, the anticipation for new content from the pairing has been building with each release.  That’s why we’re delighted to share news with you that Deep'a & Biri will be serving up the sophomore release for Blackhall & Bookless’ Jaunt Recordings and we’ve secured one of the EP’s new cuts for exclusive premiere. Psychedelic and otherworldly in equal measure the duo’s Basement Cuts EP is sure to keeps dance floors both interested and entertained when it lands this December whilst serving as a bold statement of intent from both Jaunt and Deep’a & Biri for 2015. Ukrainian producer Yan Cook steps up for his second EP in a row on Delsin Records' Inertia series, the dancefloor focussed offshoot that is running since 2011. After recent outings on Soma and his own Cooked imprint he now brings his trademark spangled techno back to the label where he appeared for the first time in 2012.

Once again it's sub shaking and room filling techno madness, shuffling percussion and rippling grooves made for the big floors and smokey warehouses.

Since its launch in 2015, Parabel has established itself as one of the main Swedish techno imprint with very well received EPs by local artists Joel Mull, Patrick Siech, Nima Khak, The Persuader, Petter B or Patrik Skoog.

Parabel steps up with Joel Mull’s fourth LP ‘Arrow Of Time’, his first album in eight years and the first LP to be released on the label.

If you’ve listened to techno in the past twenty years, Joel Mull won’t need any introduction, with three previous LPs released on prestigious labels Inside, Harthouse and Truesoul, and regular EPs appearing on Drumcode, Cocoon, Mary Go Wild or Kanzlermant to name a few.

This new album is influenced by traveling, time and the future’s point of direction. It is melancholic, cinematic, with the soul of techno at its heart. Here is the concept hiding behind it in the artist’s own words:

”We all have moments when we think about time, I do, especially when I travel. There is a certain loose feeling when I write music and sketch on ideas while I’m in a moving object that is blasting throughout space, such as a plane or a train.

These moments are more intense for me than, for example, when I’m working on ideas in the studio. The studio is amazing but it can also be too structured. When I look out of a window and have a moving canvas in front, it directly adds emotion and easily inspires me.

‘Arrow Of Time’ is the inspiration to this album’s title. It is both the time capsule that we all travel in and the journey that you do every time you listen to music.

Most of the ideas behind the tracks have then been recorded in my home studio adding a few instruments to the mix such as the Roland sh101, Lyra 8 the Roland tr8 and through the Elektron Analog Heat to get it to glow a bit more.Then processing it on my laptop with plugins from UAD, Softube, Soundtoys and with my favorite software Ableton.

The album could not sound complete and get released to the outside world without the help of my favorite mastering engineer Walter Coelho.”

Benjamin Damage is an innovative UK techno artist, the first artist signed to Berlin’s legendary 50Weapons label and the last to release an album at its closure. This period produced three critically acclaimed albums and many EPs, drawing from diverse sources to help define the crossover UK / Berlin techno sound.

As well as two, highly charged four-tracks for Len Faki’s Figure label and ‘Deep Space Transit’ on ARTS, Benjamin put out two stinging dance floor cuts as BDB, a secret collab with label mates, Feel My Bicep. A live-recorded cut for Jeff Mill’s Axis Records was released this year. 

Performing on an all-hardware setup, Benjamin’s storming live performances have lit up the best clubs and festivals all around the world. The powerful setup has been fully redeveloped for 2021.
