Former Washington defensive end Dexter Manley was dismissed from WTOP after calling retired Dallas Cowboys quarterback a "queer."

The 911 call received by DC's Office of Unified Communications on behalf of Medric Mills Jr., who died January 25 of a heart attack outside a DC fire station. Mills's daughter says she asked on-duty firefighters to assist, but none at the station responded.

In 1941, President Franklin D. Roosevelt became the first White House occupant to participate in an Oscar ceremony when he addressed the producers, directors, actors, writers, and other members of the motion picture industry gathered for the 13th annual Academy Awards. The six-minute speech was transmitted via radio from the White House to the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles. This recording was obtained from the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum in Hyde Park, N.Y.
