I consider myself to be an explorer. For me creating music is not a method of exploration that severs to enhance the human experience. I believe that music and art are a necessary part of human communication that evolved as a result of the inability for the written and verbal language to completely and adequately communicate. As a composer I dedicate my work to the exploration of acoustical phenomenology, art teleology, and the epistemology of music itself. My compositions often explore texture and timbre rather than focus strictly on melody harmony and rhythm. Many of my pieces combine electronic and acoustic elements, and incorporate the notation and improvisation of sounds that are typically classified as “non-musical sounds”, such as machine noises, and sounds scopes.
