Inspired by the soundtracks of my childhood. Jim Henson movies and ghostly, atmospheric TV themes like Box Of Delights. This track uses a Sequential Prophet-10 and Moog Grandmother, with a bit of Rhodes buried under all the reverb.

Err, what the hell is this?! Well quite.

Musical comedy duo Fladam (Flo Poskitt and Adam Sowter) approached me to arrange and produce a backing track for their Jim Steinman spoof 'Hallow Bean', for their up-coming show at the Edinburgh Fringe. And what a strange joy it was! All the drums, all the reverb. So. Much. Reverb. RIP Jim.

Semi-improvised piece recorded live using programmed sequences on the Moog Grandmother and DFAM, and manipulating effects. Piano part was written and multitracked afterwards.

I love working with Fladam (Flo Poskitt and Adam Sowter), it's such a joy to do something silly and unashamedly fun! Their new production, "Green Fingers", is a comedy musical about a young boy with... well, you can probably guess. It's a light-hearted family show that explores important themes of difference and understanding. 

Every show needs an over-the-top ballad somewhere around Act 2 and that's  'Feeling Green'. The song finds our hero comparing himself to literature's famous outcasts and wondering if he'll also get his happy ever after. In the show, Adam and Flo perform the first half of the song live before my backing track kicks in. Hopefully we'll get a recording of the full song very soon.

'Good To Be Grubby': As Green Fingers struggles with the strict, sterile environment of Woodburn Academy, his teacher Miss Budd (Flo) introduces him to the school's secret garden, wherein Green Fingers (Adam) is about to discover some secrets about himself.

Ben is a composer, songwriter, multi instrumentalist and producer based in Bristol. He has composed music for film and theatre productions, and continues to write when time and life allow. He currently plays guitar in funk/soul band Hot Contents and noodles on synthesizers he once swore he'd never get into.
