She also discusses the ethos behind her imprint Heka Trax, empowering women in the electronic music industry, the influence and passing of DJ Deeon and her interest in Amazonian shamanism and the organisation Barixá, which helps to support indigenous communities, organise retreats, educate and sell their arts.

We shared a cute talk about her productions and the so awaited album "Gentle  Confrontation", to be released this month on @hyperdub Records and premiered on @berlinatonal Festival 

Loraine James (Hyperdub / AD93 / Phantom Limb) is a producer who uses a minimalist setup and unbound creativity, she utilizes IDM, glitch aesthetics with an improvisational, jazz-rooted spirit and a unique talent for integrating her diverse influences into cohesive and emotive pieces.

"Nobody sounds like Loraine, she can take the most apparently chaotic sonic madness of drums and make something sensitive and interesting. There’s an architectural quality to the music of Loraine James: minimalist arrangements frequently morph into spasmodic outbursts as she attempts to map the unpredictable happenings of her inner world . She has developed a recognizable style defined largely by its shapeshifting qualities—knotty electronic rhythms, contorted synths, tumultuous bursts punctuated by passages of dulcet calm"
