Where The Wild Things Are: The Musical is a musical adaptation of Maurice Sendak’s 1963 children’s book and Spike Jonze’s film adaptation of the infamous Where the Wild Things Are. The musical further explores our main character Max’s disassociation and confusion with the world around him and his resulting need to escape into a world of wild things, each of which represent a part of him. The first half of the musical outlines Max’s home life and his mother’s struggle to raise her two children after their father’s passing. The second half of the show focuses on the many sides of Max through the wild things and all of the mischief that ensues under the rule of their “newfound king.”
