Lowless (label)

Floating removes you from the outside world and gives your mind the freedom to wander wherever it wants to go. You have a space where you can lie down, removed from the pressure of thinking, discussing, or participating in anything at all. It’s an environment that exists almost completely opposite our current plugged-in, sensory-driven way of life. Flourishing and regaining back all the dark/bright, warmth/cold, emotive/cheerful, ambiguous and mysterious sensations that has now all but vanished leaving abandoned souls. 

Dycide is a producer / DJ, professional sound designer and visual artist from Munich / Germany. Back in 2014, he established the Dycide pseudonym in order to release mainly minimalistic deep drum and bass. However, he slowly started changing more and more to techno oriented music and, along the way, he and his close friends established @iorecs, an audiovisual label, focusing on experimental ambient and deep techno and atmospheric artwork. Besides these projects David is working as an interactive sound designer and audio software developer.

You know how a night out can be so full of vagaries - a cigarette burn on the dance floor, spilled drinks as you walk out of the bathroom, long queues... You walk into a room and feel this soothing pulse of understanding, a radiant sense of care for your well-being carries over through the speakers as pads croon their sympathy to you. As the mental cinema continues to unfold and acid tones combine with a swirling percussive groove, you know you are home. All the ways in which this night seemed to have gone wrong, are just right. For without them, this ethereal moment of transcendence would be impossible. Without them, there would be no Shikha.

Fluctuation is Dycide’s second solo EP on Lowless and the artist’s first vinyl release. The Munich-based producer presents three club-oriented tracks. A rhythmic and minimalist techno like the German has often accustomed us to.
The vinyl opens with the mystical groovy journey called Fluctuation. The second track Fluent Iteration is probably the artist’s most tortured production where a dialogue between a humming bass and a dark pad take the main role. Inflation is a long and dark apocalyptic descent.
The deep techno legend Claudio PRC closes the EP in the best way possible with a great remix of Fluctuation revealing his dreamy and emotional side.
