Earlier this year I was asked to become the judge for a 2025 renaissance of the Decoded Magazine Mix of the Month competition, which I won back in 2016.

One of the key criteria we look for is the quality of the musical journey / story - we feel that the art of the mixtape is becoming a bit of a lost art these days, and we want to help keep it alive.

The inaugural winner for this new era of the monthly competition, a UK artist called Molotov, kindly invited me to make a guest mix for his radio show on a station called Subcode.

Having listened to several hundred entries from people since the competition began, I was inspired to create a new journey of my own - showcasing my current taste and take on the mixtape concept.

It's also a particularly personal one for me, with a selection of interview samples scattered throughout the mix which were inspired by quality time and conversations about life with my Dad this summer.

It's a downtempo, cosmic journey intended to transport you to the outer reaches of your mind.
